I worry a bit about TTU on Saturday as a trap game, I know everyone has the Monday trip to Houston circled - hopefully the KU game Monday is enough to get the team's full attention. That hasn't been a problem with this team so far - but that Houston game is huge
I can't imagine the team and staff looking past TTU. Any team that's coming off a 29-point win over Kansas will have their full and undivided attention.

I think the best thing that could have happened for our focus is TT blowing KU's doors off. These guys seem to have blinders on game to game, so I hope that continues.

It's a scary game because they are filthy from 3 and are very good at 2pt shots as well. When our defense rotates they will find a 3 point shooter. It'll be a matter of them hitting consistently.

If they go scorching hot like BYU and VT then we'll see if the team will let it affect our defense/offense like it did in those games. These was earlier in the year so we have made strides since then, hopefully we'll know how to handle it if it happens again.

On the other side they aren't good on defense (relatively speaking in conference) so we'll have chances on offense as long as we don't lose our minds which I feel happens occasionally (looking at you Gilbert).

I read this and thought "they are THAT good at shooting 3s".

Then I looked up the data and... nope, I was wrong.

in conference play, they are shooting 40% on 3s (best in the Big XII) on 8.5 makes per game (2nd). They have 5 guys (they only play 7) that all are shooting > 30% in conference play, with chucker Pop Isaacs at 36%, Williams their PF at 44% and Walton at 51%.

They also are shooting 76% from the FT in conf play, with their top 4 guys all shooting 84% or better.

They are really small though, especially when Warren Washington is out, as he's the only player over 6'7". Also of note- Washington is on his FOURTH school in 6 years as a college bbal player. That is insane.

Not sure if I've seen a more impactful 8 minutes of playing time than Pav had. Not only gave Tamin a blow, but was everywhere with key passes, steals, defensive stops.
I think I was most impressed with Pav’s 90 mph pass to Jones for a corner three. The speed could have broken Jone’s finger.

Speaking of 3 pt assists, this is not scientific but I think we’re 100% on 3s when BRE assists from the paint.

Just really like the BRE pass to the wing for 3. He did it twice against TCU and again to Gilbert in the Cincy game.

I had the same thought. His passing from the paint was great. Ward is also a great passer. Such an added benefit when teams try and crank up the pressure on Tamin and Keshon.

I expect them to fly around on Saturday like normal even if they don't win.

Focus and playing their asses off is just something I won't get worried about for this group (or TJ teams) and it's something to be excited about as fans...and I think something to keep in mind for if/when things don't go well.

Getting beat or even not playing well doesn't mean the effort wasn't given.

Glad someone had the same thought. Feel like I’m missing the joke with a couple responses to a pretty benign post.
