Does anyone actually like being called bud? Particularly from someone they barely/don't know?

Genuine question as I can't *not* hear bud as condescending.
Not sure. Start a poll? But regardless I say it often and have never run into such butt hurt. You and others think it's condescending. I, and my friends, don't. Guess we're just different huh.

Probably said on here but our perimeter quickness is getting exposed, OSU and now Mizzou. Both got open 3's all day and hit their shots.
We might not be the quickest. But teams are spreading us out and when we rely so much on trapping and help defense in the half court, it would put even the quickest defender at a disadvantage.

IMO there are times and teams where we need to play tough man-to-man, but be more passive. Don't switch so readily, don't trap and clog the paint vs. passing lanes.

Edit.
IMO a different style of man-to-man would be more effective than our breaking out a zone D.

They got outhustled today by a mile and that’s not the norm for this staff but Gabe kept giving it away and Jones has no business in the game anymore. I’ll not dispute some of that on coaching but mizzou kids wanted today a lot more
I’ve always wondered if
wanting to win more than the other team has anything to do with coaching or is that all on the players

The bolded contributes to why teams go off at the 3pt line against ISU. An ISU defender often isn't close enough to the shooter to disrupt the beginning of the shooting motion. Running out a disciplined shooter after he's started his shooting motion doesn't do much. Or the ISU defender just gets picked off and the shooter is wide open.

Maybe the switching and trapping best suits the ISU players...I don't know...but it certainly opens up opportunity for better teams to exploit the strategy.

The defense has been lit up two games in row. Monday will be interesting.

Thoughts from being there in person.
-Mizzou fans were fired up for this one right from the beginning. Sold out and loud.
-ISU fans traveled very well. I estimate about 8% of fans were in Cardinal
-It was every bit a bummer in person as it likely was on TV. Probably more so for ISU fans who drove more than 4 hours for that performance by the team.

Take the bad loss and move on. This team still has an incredible ceiling.
A couple more thoughts
-Twice Mizzou’s student section (and drunk middle aged fans) chanted “**** KU!” Nothing screams little brother more than chanting against a team that isn’t even playing.
-Mizzou’s student section also started chanting SEC. Funny chanting that when Mizzou literally has done nothing to contribute to the SEC reputation in football or basketball since joining.

End of the day, I wish Mizzou was back in the Big 12. Today was fun that both teams fans were into the game. These teams should be in the same conference.

This is all alot of time and effort for ESPN to come up with an excuse for a ****** Kentucky team to play a kind of ****** Kansas team.

I have officially unfired myself as a Jones critic. He simply doesn't belong out there. A tired big is better than him rested.
Jones isn't pretty out there, but he does the dirty work. I believe he led the Clones with 8 rebounds in 16 minutes. Osun had 3 rebounds in 26 minutes.

Without Grill, there isn't a an offensive threat on the bench. I think today was the first time all season we played Jones & Osunniyi at the same time.
