I think it comes down to Hoagie. He has been MIA this season so far. I also think we need to be 80%+ from the charity stripe tonight. In previous games we have left 6-10 points at the line.

With this being a "rivalry" game, and with our speed and better athleticism I anticipate a lot of fouls.

I want to see ISU start off with Georges running the show and spread the court and let him take Woodbury off the dribble the first couple positions. Get him in foul trouble and negate some of their size.

It would be pretty epic if Iowa fans could track down a photo of this Matt White guy and make a bunch of pictures of his face.

I just hope we don't have to resort to cheating again this year by shooting more free throws than they do. We don't want Jon Miller to be upset.

It will be interesting to see how the ISU offense clicks without BDJ out there. He was able to create a lot of offense on his own when things broke down and in transition. No one that will replace him can replace those things. If Thomas can step up and make 4+ threes ISU should be OK provided that they don't have another one bucket night from Niang.

That is correct. This is the game that we finally need to see a little Jamal Tinsley out of Morris.

i think if we stay outta foul trouble, can focus on the game, and ignore the crowd, I like our chances.

Monte Morris - 13 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal (avg. 6.8 points, 2.6 boards, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals)
Matt Thomas - 3 points, 2 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal (avg. 5.5 points, 2.1 boards, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals)
Naz Long - 12 points, 1 board, 1 assist, 1 steal (avg. 7.1 points, 1.6 boards, 1.1 assists, 0.2 steals)
Daniel Edozie - 4 boards (avg. 1.5 boards)
Dustin Hogue - 14 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal (avg. 11.6 points, 8.4 boards, 1 assist, 0.8 steals)
Melvin Ejim - 19 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block (avg. 17.8 points, 8.4 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.7 blocks)
DeAndre Kane - 24 points, 10 boards, 7 assists (avg. 17.1 points, 6.8 boards, 5.9 assists)

Combined contribution above their averages -18 points, 0 boards, 1 assist, and 2 steals

Niang's averages - 16.7 points, 4.5 boards, 3.6 assists, and 0.6 steals

So overall as a group they stepped it up and covered Niang's point contribution, they didn't cover his boards, came up short on his assists, and were up 1 steal.

Overall against a tough opponent on a neutral court the team was able to step up their contributions to nearly cover what they were missing with Niang on 1 days notice. It has been done... and it can be done again.
