LOL, you're a pretty new fan then
No it is. We had no expectations back in the day. Nice wins were a fluke. We always deep down knew better back then.

This time felt different. Hurts much worse this time around.

I think I have PTSD.

This reminds me of the good seasons Mac and Rhoads had only to then follow up with disappointment.

Out gaining is a dumb stat. Done that twice this year and it's been two losses. Get back to me with points perpossession. All that matters is points.

Well those special teams plays is what gave them a kick return for a TD, a short punt led to a great field position that led to three points. Special teams lost this game. With stats like that without looking at the score, everyone would have thought ISU won.

Never said it was the greatest stat at all but way to be a presumptuous asshat. Fact is when you outgain a team by that much and lose it’s typically because one of your three areas (offense, defense and special teams) has a serious problem. Our special teams is that unit. The kick return, terrible first half punt and missed FG did us in.

Eric just said Manning was outstanding calling plays today. I don’t think I have disagreed with him, ever. 30 years listening to him. First half was a nightmare.
I think they wore Baylor down, I don't think play calling was great.
But the problem is you gave up 10 points on special teams in the 2nd half.

Teams like ISU need to be competent on the special teams. How many games has ISU actually won when they gave up a KO or Punt return for a TD?

Offense was a joke for 3 quarters, there us a big problem there. The okay call at the end was awful, just unacceptable. I can’t believe Campbell allowed that to be run. This is the big 12, you aren’t winning games 17 to 16, you gotta score a lot of points and you can’t wait till late 4th quarter to wake up.

defense did enough but lets not pretend they got run entire first half

special teams, I’m not even sure how that can happen at this level of football, we flat out got guys in the wrong spots on kick returns

Next week there will be a lot of empty seats at the jack with this loss

There should be. It seems they think the support is unlimited, all they have to do is say what great fans we are every once in awhile. There has to be accountability, even for the best coach we’ve ever had. If there isn’t accountability people become comfortable, maybe even lax. Then we see what we have seen this season. I hope Cambell figured it out, unfortunately it won’t matter until next year.

The players and coaching staff should be ashamed of themselves for this effort.

Baylor went from a 2-7 program with a new coach to better than Iowa State in the span of 8 months.
