We can't play an uptempo offense with only 7 players and expect to be able to play 40 minutes of solid defense. Our lack of depth is killing us. We need to slow the game down, so we don't get fatigued as quickly.

Myron sums it up pretty well in there...

Iowa State has some serious issues to address. Just gave up 94 points for the second game in a row. The Cyclones are 1-3 in Big 12 play. It's just not working right now for that talented team. I talked to Steve Prohm a few weeks ago. Asked him about his relationship with ISU's veterans. "Work in progress." You can still sense that they're all still working on that crucial relationship. Iowa State hasn't played with the swagger we saw in the Fred Hoiberg Era. And they're running out of time to make a serious push for the Big 12 title.

I can think of no reason why Burton wasn't in for that last possession. I've been a Prohm supporter this whole time but I really question some of the decisions he made tonight. Clearly something isn't working.
i was thinking the same thing about Burton.

Seems like UNI dribbled out top for awhile just to shorten the game and lul the defense to sleep. Taking that approach would cut the number of possessions. It is like an in game rest. I don't like it but the team might benefit.

He's hitting at a 42% clip. That's damn good.
Our ball movement is so bad that Thomas' looks are not quality, hence the bad % last 2 games. I was in the 3rd row mid court tonight and he had 4 3 pt attempts, 1 was somewhat open, the other 3 quite contested but he needed to take them.....get him fairly open looks and he will be at the 45-50% clip at least..

What do people honestly think will happen the rest of the way? This is how I have it, finishing up at 20-11. Hope I'm wrong. Crazy I know having us losing 5 straight at Hilton but this team has some serious issues.

Starting to think prom had success due to a talented point guard on the roster at a made major. It doesn't look like his success had anything to do with coaching.

If we go 8-10 in conference this season with this roster then Prohm won't make it to Year 4.

But JP had to be cheap again and save some money.

Everytime something goes wrong, it always comes back to Jamie Pollard being incompetent for many of you. Right, wrong, or indifferent, if President Leath hadn't intervened and thrusts himself into this process, my bet is TJ would've been the head coach. TJ had full support of the players, and although he has had zero experienced as head coach, he would have been just fine. Don't blame JP on this one, if you are unhappy, blame Leath.

That being said, I think Steve Prohm is one heck of a fine man, and my bet is a darn goods coach. I think its a difficult situation because he feels like he really can't take control because of fear of losing the team. They bought into Hoiberg, and I dont think they respect Prohm, and thats an issue. After these losses, it will be easier for Coach Prohm to do it his way. Judge him for how he performs the balance of the season. This team can go one of two ways. It can struggle and not get the 800 lb gorilla off its back, or it can turn things around and catch fire and go on a run the other way.

Losin Naz was huge. Both on and off then court. Jameel last year was catalyst that increased everyone's energy on the floor. This year he drains it. Nader has struggled, and we have very little we can count on coming off the bench. Burton is 50/50, Cooke just isn't very good. We are going to have to finish the season much like Eustacheys team several years ago where we basically played 6 guys and had to gut it out. I just don't know if we are mentally tough enough to do that.
