Best case scenario would be Creighton or Wichita St getting a top 3 seed (include Mizzou) then Iowa State being a 6 or 11 and playing in Kansas City.

Creighton vs Iowa State in Kansas City 3rd round would be pretty sweet.

How damaging was the Texas Tech loss to Iowa State's chances to make the field?

Not crushing. That one game isn't going to keep the Cyclones out of the tournament.

At this point I think 11 would be a great seed to have. Especially if the 6 we faced in our first game was a team that hadn't really faced our style of offense yet. If we could win that round we would get a 3 in the next round and anything can happen. Then we could become the Cinderella story of the tournament.

Agreed. I'd much rather have an 11 seed than an 8 or 9. Ironically, if we really go on a tear from here on out, we'll probably get an 8/9 and have to play the overall #1 in the second round, like last year. If we continue as we have, we'll probably get an 11 and have a very high probability of making it to at least the 3rd round. I will say this though, There is no 2012 Kentucky in the country this year, so playing the overall #1 won't be the same as last year. So lets go ahead and go on that tear. Maybe we'll even end up with a #6 seed!

I do not see any super duper teams like UK this year. KU may even end up on top of the heap. So, it is better this year as an 8/9.

Well, now we have more bubble madness. Indiana State beat #15 Wichita State, Virginia beat # 18 NC State, and Kentucky beat # 21 Ole Miss. I would hate to be part of the selection committee this year.

Thing about the valley is if Wich state loses 3-4 more they might be out of the picture.

I think this year will have more of an emphasis on the last 4 games and the conference tournaments to deteremine seedings than past years. The quality of basketball seems to have taken a big drop off this year.

If ISU can channel their focus like the KU, Texas, and KSU game..........it could be a special march.

working on my bracketology before the game. There are 46 teams that have locked spots in imo. 22 teams to punch in their ticket. Out of the 46, that includes conference championships.

just a little update

Looks good. Though I think Miami would now be a two seed, and Gonzaga a 3. Also, I don't think Montana will be a 16 seed. Something around the 14 seed mark makes more sense. I think Harvard will end up as a 16 seed. Lastly, I think Long Beach State will win the Big West, not Pacific. Other than that, it looks pretty good!

I have us as a nine seed playing Kentucky. This is just as likely as any of these guys pairings.
Only difference-- I'm not geting paid for this great prediction.
