Looks like Iowa will need to win two more in the BIG tournament and we may still have to beat someone in the B12 tournament unless things go our way. We should be motivated for the tournament this year.

The new polls have interesting teams right at the bottom. Teams like MIddle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech, and Akron are all receiving votes. If these teams can run the table in their conference, but lose in their conference tourney's, they might get At-Large consideration.

Missouri State says that none of those teams will make the NCAA Tournament unless they win their conference tourney.

Most wins by teams left out of the tournament
28 -- Coastal Carolina
26 -- Cleveland State
25 -- Missouri State
25 -- Saint Mary’s
25 -- UTEP

Fewest losses by teams left out of the tournament
5 -- Coastal Carolina
6 -- Harvard
7 -- Fairfield
8 -- Cleveland State
8 -- Missouri State
8 -- Saint Mary’s

Highest RPI by teams left out
35 -- Harvard
42 -- Cleveland State
43 -- Missouri State
46 -- Saint Mary’s
50 -- Colorado State

Some interesting snippets from Palm:

Iowa can't jump Illinois
B12 is more likely to get 6 than B10 to get 8
Committee is looking hard at road wins (conf. tourney counts as "road")
Conference record doesn't matter (Sorry Hokfans)

Actually agree with him for once.

I don't give a **** about Iowa. You realize they beat us? All I care is that ISU is in. As I mentioned, I think Vegas gives the most unbiased ranking available. They have a much more sophisticated method of ranking teams than Jerry Palm or any other "expert".
