If Iowa gets in - time to turn basketball into football cupcake mode. There is a reason that people schedule teams with a pulse in basketball. In football, 12 games isn't enough that strength of schedule matters as much as win total (unless you are inline to play for the BCS bowls).

Iowa didn't play anyone, and when they did they failed to capitalize. Are they one of the top 68 teams? Yes. Do they belong in the NCAA Tournament? No.

Lunardi's bracket has us in easily the toughest region. KU, Duke, and MSU? Ouch. No thanks. I'd like to avoid Louisville and Duke.

Iowa won't get in.

Louisville, Gonzaga, Indiana, and Duke.

Last four in: Ole Miss, Boise State, La Salle, and Iowa.

Last four in, I'm with you on Ole Miss, Boise St., and LaSallle, but the other spot would be a toss-up between Grambling St. and Iowa, and I think Grambling might eke it out. That would mean, though, that Iowa would still get to be in the nits tourney, and I'd give them a good shot at making through the first round.

Instead of giving a last 4 in/first 4 out, a few bold predictions (and a few not-so-bold) regarding teams in bubble vicinity.

These aren't necessarily my opinion or what "makes sense" from common outsider analysis -- more what I most expect the committee to do.

The following are in and avoid the intro-round game:
Boise State
Wichita State
St. Mary's

These teams are in and possibly avoid the play-in:
La Salle
Tennessee

Kentucky is either in and gets the bye, or is NIT-bound. I don't see UK slotted in a play-in.

Kentucky and Virginia are on the fringe. If you see Ole Miss' name during selection, expect to see UK and UVa, too.

It's looking like Ole Miss might just get the automatic qualifier by winning the SEC tournament.

Miami has now won the ACC Regular Season Championship and the ACC Tournament Championship. They are getting the 1 seed over Kansas in my opinion.

Miami Bad Losses: Florida Gulf Coast, Indiana State, Georgia Tech
Kansas Bad Losses: TCU, Baylor, Had a 3 game losing streak as well.

Critical turnover by Henderson. Florida ball with 22.3 seconds left. Could be the difference between the NCAA Tournament and the NIT for Ole Miss if Florida wins this.

Miami deserves it more than Kansas IMO. Winning the ACC outright and then that conference tourney is no small achievement. Of course if UNC or Duke had done that we'd all be hearing about how they're a lock for a 1 seed and in contention for the overall #1 spot :skeptical:

Miami reminds me of us in 2000 and 2001, so they will probably get a 2 seed.

Ole Miss fouls up 3 in SEC title game

Wins game, still not sure if it is right or wrong, but thought it was interesting
