I don't really have any vested interest in the outcome of this series, but as a basketball fan I'm getting so sick of the refs playing a role in the outcome of the game. The officiating has been horrendous. Going back to the Rockets/Warriors Game 7, the only reason the refs weren't talked about more there was the Rockets abysmal shooting. They were awful.

Then last night, I get the reversal is a dumb NBA rule rather than a ref thing. But there were so many horrible calls down the stretch. Then the Tristan Thompson ejection just set it all off. Dude literally did nothing. It was a hard close out. If you want to take a shot with 2 seconds left on the clock, fine, but surely the guy is allowed to close out. Then they go to the monitor and somehow still say that he swung at his head, which he didn't. Ultimate ref show at that point in time. No doubt they were just making it about themselves at that point.

Give me a Cubs game or hockey over this nonsense the rest of the way.

Didn't do anything besides punch Green with a basketball, if you want to leave that out.
I get a lot of people would like to do that... but doesn't mean you can.

Man the NBA's replay logic is insanely off the charts irrational.

So if there's a question about the restricted area...they can not only review where your feet are but they can review the entire foul call.

If there's a question about out of bounds...and the truth is someone was shoved out of bound with no foul call...they can't review the blown foul call.

Plus LeBron was waaaaaay outside the restricted area. You didn't need to review it for that unless the refs weren't paying attention.

In the end it is the right call...just barely. But I don't get why sometimes they can review fouls and sometimes they can't. If you're going to the video to review, either review all judgment foul calls or none.

I don't know if I agree. Isn't the rule that it must be clear and indisputable to overturn it? If that's the case then I don't see how they overturn that call. It wasn't a clear block or charge the way I saw it, and if that's the case then the original call should have stood.

Yeah, you can't say that there was indisputable evidence when the call-in-ref doing the game said it was a charge in real time and still uncertain watching it in slow-mo.

I don't know if it's 'indisputable' but I do know if they review the restricted line they can flip the call.

What is the "true" right call? Probably block. Is it indisputable? No, I agree with you it's not.

What gets me mad is selectively deciding when fouls can and can't be reviewed. Here's a wild idea...how about every time a play triggers a review or no time a play is reviewed?

Agreed. In real time it looked for sure like a charge. The slow motion replay indicated that it was maybe a block and that Lebron wasn't in a legal guarding position, but you could just as easily argue that Lebron beat KD to the spot before KD went up into his shot motion. If two objective people are looking at it and drawing different conclusions then it isn't indisputable.

He got ejected for the closeout on Livingston. That set off the skirmish where he’s now facing possible suspension.

Agree. When the call is that close (depending what 'expert' you talk to) the call usually stands. I was shocked they reversed it.

Yep. Ref thought he threw an elbow on that close out when another camera angle showed he clearly didn’t. Just another bad call on the egregiously long list of bad calls by the refs last night - a call that triggered a string of events that’s likely going to leave the Cavs without at least one, maybe several, players for game 2. No excuse for what happened after he was T’d up, but the Warriors instigated that and got exactly what they were hoping for.

If that was not indisputably a blocking foul - i'm not sure what is.
Whether or not it should have been reviewed is the only question.

The fact of it is was a block/charge is not debatable. If you want to argue in full speed i will listen to the argument, but after review if you think that call is not indisputable - i can't help you.

He was already ejected for the closeout. As for the ball to Green's face, hard to fault a guy who has been tossed for no reason and having Draymond talk **** and clap in his face. The amount of stuff Draymond gets away with is astonishing to me. Thompson gets tossed for a closeout and Green literally complains and talks **** the entire game and gets, at worst, a technical here and there.

How do you figure? One person could look at it and say that he beat KD to the spot, before KD went up into his shooting motion. It's not like he slid in under him after Durant had left his feet. You could argue either way.

The NFL already figured out the problem with slowing things down to frame by frame and tryingto make a call that way. That's why they went back to the drawing board on the catch rule after last season. Same issue here.

One thing I thought was funny last night was that you have to get 7 technicals in the playoffs to get a suspension. 7! That seems like a useless rule. Who gets that many in the playoffs?

As the guy on the broadcast said, Lebron has his left foot planted and then moves the rest of his body to catch up to it. It's bang bang.

Does the regular season rule for total techs extend into the playoffs?
