I know he was disappointing last year but that's a really high level recruit leaving KU.

He was more than disappointing. I remember looking at all the Big 12 starters and and their efficiency and I believe he was the worst starter in the Big 12 and he was worse than a lot of bench guys as well. There were a few McDAA's who just were not good last year. Shows you that rankings aren't always spot on.

Blackshear is rumored to be a Kentucky lean. Of course that is from Kentucky people so not sure how accurate that is. Wouldn't be surprised to see him follow Buzz.

They get to play no matter what. They would never transfer. Cal's kid just wants to play but his Dad is too smart to sacrifice wins to keep his wife happy.

That's what would make it even funnier. They get to play and they are still like "F This".

More rats jumping off the sinking ship while the getting is good.
The adidas money well ran dry...

Then we had this guy named Tyrese who was a 91.48% on 24-7...

...who led the conference in offensive rating last season.

Here was the bottom of the conference (minimum of 20 MPG, so only guys who were starters or rotational guys, not back-of-the-bench scrubs)...

Grimes was second-worst. Garrett was #10. Horton-Tucker, the one with all the stars, was actually one of the least efficient players in the conference last year.

Aaron Calixte started 7/18 games for Oklahoma last year. Does he count?

If not him, Grimes was definitely the worst of the full-time starters (18/18).

I also wanted to note from the above, despite the reasonable concerns about losing Nick, Shayok, Lindell, Talen, and Lard (or 5/7 of our main rotational guys last year)...

We are returning our two most efficient players.

Haliburton and Jacobson might be a stronger foundation than we think.

These guys I am not worried about. I think they will be productive, I think the big question marks are the guys that will see increased minutes/role or new guys, i.e. Nixon, maybe Bolton. Also think that if healthy, you know what you going to get from Young. Hard nosed defender who is a team/glue guy.

As always though as usage goes up it's tough to maintain that level of efficiency. And technically Lard was more efficient than Jacobson.

These points are true. But at least they have solid foundations to expand their volume while decreasing their efficiency to still reasonable/competitive levels.

Lard played 21.4% of available minutes. Jacobson played 62.6%.

To your point, flip those around, and I doubt Lard is ahead of Jacobson anymore on ORTG.

Technically Eric Steyer (161.4) was the highest of all. Need to play him more. :p

Meh, it's one season. We unexpectedly get back both Dok and DeSousa, so one bad recruiting class is no big deal. Next year's class will be the litmus test on the impact of the Adidas stuff.

Some guys avoided us due to concerns of possible punishment. KU will hear on all that some time this year and move forward. Louisville and Arizona are right back near the top of the recruiting class. KU will recover quickly.

Has anyone on here posted that Jaire Grayer is going to T-friggin-CU. We're going to be playing against a kid whose dad's name is in the rafters. I hope that he gets a nice round of applause because a better Cyclone than his dad you won't find. But then I hope he loses ...

I’m guessing Jeff will be in attendance and he deserves a big standing ovation. His son who I appreciate deserves the five claps when introduced though.
