Loyola won in 1963. That was 55 years ago. They are an #11. 55+11=66. 66/11=6. It takes 6 wins to win the title.
Everyone is rolling at this point. Not sure that idea makes anyone's argument.
Work Kevin Bacon into that somehow and I think you've got a winning theory.Loyola won in 1963. That was 55 years ago. They are an #11. 55+11=66. 66/11=6. It takes 6 wins to win the title.
Too much Michigan love around here.True. But I think we’re going to have a Michigan-Nova title game.
Junior Clayton reminds me a bit of junior Monte. Floor general.
I wouldn't want to play against him, seems like he's everywhere.
ESPN ran a story saying "KU v Duke" was the "Matchup we've wanted to see" and I laughed because if not for stories like Loyola and even KSU I'd be tuned out somewhat.
I watch NCAA basketball for the Cyclones and to pull for the underdog. When I want to watch the best basketball I watch the NBA playoffs. Duke gives me nothing interesting as a fan even when they have great teams (unless I were a Duke alum or local).
Michigan rolled against A&M. Not so much against Houston.Yeah they’re rolling. But so is Michigan.

That just blew my mind.Loyola won in 1963. That was 55 years ago. They are an #11. 55+11=66. 66/11=6. It takes 6 wins to win the title.
Me, too. If I want to see Duke-Kansas, I'll watch them in a regular season matchup. If that's not scheduled, that's fine. I don't really have a need to see it.
Loyola is why I'm bothering.
To be fair, a lot of people watch Duke games to root against them. I would guess a majority of viewers.![]()

Loyola of Chicago is in the Final Four for the first time since 1963 and the 2nd time overall. They are 1-0 in the National Semifinals. They defeated Duke 94-75 in the 1963 National Semifinals in route to the National Championship.
Loyola of Chicago is 2-0 in the Elite Eight.
Loyola of Chicago is the 4th #11 seed to advance to the Final Four:
Loyola of Chicago is now 13-4 all-time in the NCAA Tournament for a .765 winning percentage which passes Duke for the best winning percentage in tournament history.
- 1986 Louisiana State
- 2006 George Mason
- 2011 Virginia Commonwealth
Kansas State is 4-9 in the Elite Eight. They have lost 7 straight Elite Eight games.
Kansas State is 4-6 vs. the Missouri Valley. The 6 losses are the most all-time.
They have 9 Elite 8 losses. They have 13 Elite 8 appearances. There's no reason Loyola can't be a mid major power. The amount of talent in Chicago compared to the lack of great programs in the area has been out of balance since DePaul fell off from being elite decades ago.
Surprised KSU has 9 Elite 8 appearances.
Loyola won in 1963. That was 55 years ago. They are an #11. 55+11=66. Kevin Bacon's character in Apollo 13 had 11 letters in his name (Jack Swigert). 66/11=6. It takes 6 wins to win the title.
