This will be the 2nd visit with Mooney, right? That’s very interesting.
Anyone excited about Prentice Nixon? I am not sure how I feel about him since he has to sit one to play one. Is he that level of talent? Anyone see him play before? I would be more up for it if he was a grad transfer. However, I will allow the coaches to make that decision since I am not an NBA talent scout.
He is definitely one we have the best "in" with his AAU coach being Zion's and the guy that loves Prohm.Anyone excited about Prentice Nixon? Yeah Zion’s coach for Hoopers coached Nixon at Bolingbrook HS.I think that is actually not true on him having the same AAU coach as Zion. Zion played for Hoopers and PN played for Illinois Wolves.
I think the connection is that the guy who is Zion's AAU coach was this Nixon's assistant high school coach tooI think that is actually not true on him having the same AAU coach as Zion. Zion played for Hoopers and PN played for Illinois Wolves.
Oh boy @rochclone
I actually like the sit 1/play 1 (a la Nixon) better than a grad transfer like Mooney. Never underestimate the value of having starter-level talent on the practice squad for an entire year to help push & develop the rest of the team. A sit-out transfer's game also develops further, in Prohm's sytem specifically, before they have to hit the court for us.

If we can get Mooney and Wiggington returns then this significantly changes the potential for this team. It could be a Sweet 16 or Elite 8 type of squad.
The more time that passes the more I am starting to agree with Rochclone and Allfourcy. Let's stack our roster as much as possible. With the Maui tourny and the Des Moines, Kansas City, Minneapolis post season path this is the year to make some serious noise. A highly successful year could carry positive recruiting implications for years to come.
I'll admit I was wrong...hope we get Mooney!
It certainly doesn't hurt and I guarantee the coaches mention ISU is playing in that next year.Speaking of Maui tourney....do you think a grad transfer hearing he can play several of the big boys as part of a Hawaii trip is an added recruiting perk? Then again, probably a minimal consideration for a player and his future. I know, hate it when people already answer their own question.![]()
