I'm hoping to find more worldwide/competitors outside the U.S. coverage this time around.

Counting medals kind of defeats the enjoyment of simply watching people do things that don't get a lot of coverage otherwise.

I think cheering for non-US athletes in the Winter Olympics is okay because we’re not very good at the winter sports anyway. Cheering against the US in the Summer Olympics is light treason.

I'm not interested in cheering for or against anyone in either event, just interested in seeing more of a global view and wish the coverage here were more geared for it.

I was talking to a co-worker who's originally from Austria and was talking about how much more enjoyable it is when you just see it as an event instead of 'Murica must win' mentality. I agree.

I DID find it funny the year USA basketball got beat...they got exposed for not knowing how to play basic basketball.

Cheering for other competitors isn't necessarily cheering against the US. I generally cheer for former Cyclones at the Olympics but also cheer for US athletes.

Who says USA isn't good at the winter sports? We've finished either first or second in total medal count every winter Olympics since 2002.

I could watch 18 straight days of Olympic curling. It probably has something to do with me not watching much of it the rest of that four year period.

Normally I watch hockey, but it's less appealing this time around without the NHL players.

Outside of curling and hockey I'll end up watching snowboarding, speed skating, a little bit of skiing, and bobsled.

Really enjoying the mixed doubles curling right now. Warm tea, a nice fire, a fat bowl, some light snowfall and a tablet. I will be on this couch for the next 6+ hours. Love the Winter Olympics.

You can stumble across the national championships at like midnight if you look for them, or like me bored and find them at times.

The US mixed team just gave that away. Denny Green would like a word with you, Hamilton’s.

Yup. Universal channel. I just generally don't watch it much outside of the Winter Olympics. If I overexpose myself to it it becomes less interesting.

I'm headed to Utah skiing in 3 weeks so I'm pumped to watch anything skiing to get me in the mood. Then when I'm there I'll pretend I'm an olympian and probably die.

One of my roommates in my later years at ISU during spring break went to Colorado for skiing. When he came back he had surgery on his ACL and had months of rehab.

I've been skiing a grand total of once in my life. I picked it up rather quickly and had a lot of fun, but it never became a "destination vacation" for me (my wife having severe scoliosis and never even wanting to look at a skiing hill as a result probably has a lot to do with it).

The slopes you’ll be hitting will probably be more challenging than this downhill course in Korea.

Just watching a bit of the downhill on NBCSN.

Just knowing they're hitting 90 MPH on those things makes me happy I'm sitting here drinking a beer.

Funniest part of the Olympics is I watch enough of a few events to actually feel like I know what's good or bad in the sport vs. my expectations on what's impressive. Why aren't these commentators as amazed as I am that the skier didn't fall once?
