Don’t want to ruin your dream but Buggs won’t be coming here...staying out west

Could be, but the only reference I've seen on this is on CF.
As long as he's active on Nate's list, it's possible he might follow his Dad and be a Cyclone.

Grill, left because he's far behind Bolton and Jackson. When Bolton committed his days were numbered.

Anderson was a Plan B as a safety after we missed on the legacy and Young was coming off injury. We now have Young, Conditt and Foster. Anderson was only going to be a one year safety net.

Leech was a bit off from the start, as you said Dubar and Blackwell fill this loss. I think they caused it.

2017 is the real issue. Only had 2 openings. LW in the pros, Lewis a bust.

Right now we have 4 guys coming in from 2020. 3 from 2019, 1 from 2018 and 1 from 2015. This is after the busts were sent packing. It seems like you'd be happier if Lewis and Griffin were still here. Two more bodies zero more winning.
We know why Grill left? Link?

"The Bronx, NY native averaged 15 points per game in two seasons at Gardner-Webb while also averaging six rebounds and four assists per contest. The 6-foot-5 wing brings good size and length at his position and could be an intriguing option and instantly one of the top-rated sit-out transfers.
Perez listed Memphis, DePaul, Missouri, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Rhode Island, St. John’s, Marquette, Tulsa, New Mexico, BYU, Illinois, Dayton, San Diego, amongst many others, he told Stockrisers.com.

The latest programs to reach out are Minnesota and South Carolina as the two reached out to Perez while he was working out on Monday afternoon. He said that he’s slated to get on the phone with head coach Richard Pitino at some point, could be as early as today. He’s also spoken to several other head coaches like Mizzou’s Cuonzo Martin, Rhode Island’s David Cox and Georgia Tech’s Josh Pastner."

His days were numbered 21 days after he signed by a person that doesn’t play the same position.
I don’t think he left because of Bolton, but they certainly were after some of the same minutes. It wasn’t an either/or situation, but it rarely is.

If Haliburton was a very good PG instead of a top 10 pick we'd be looking at this offseason completely different. C'mon he was a 3*. Losing him after two years is a bit of a shock.

We were still one of the worst teams in the conference with him. It'd be different, but not vastly different.

Also, it wasn't a shock after last season. He's had year of knowing he was going to be gone unless things had gone terribly wrong.

I don't need to go over all of his recruits to litigate how good his recruiting has been. The results are proof of how good the recruiting has been.

Agree, except for that Haliburton on next year’s team isn’t the same on last year’s team. Guys will improve, and having the ability to play athletic wings at the 4 would be a big improvement. Add a GT, and it’s a tournament team

My speculation is Grill just wanted to play for TJ. He wanted to after HS sticking with his commitment to SDSU when he got better P5 offers and highly considered UNLV when Otz become the coach. As many 18 year olds, he decided to stay closer to home and have his family able to see every game.
After a year living on his own he now feels more comfortable that he can handle not being withing driving distance of his own town. Caleb also probably recognized that a Red Shirt year and playing at the MWC level would really put him in position to be the most successful. While it hurts ISU, I do think it is probably the right decision for him.

I know inter conference transfers dont happen a whole lot but I hope we gave Bienemy a good look, think he would fill the primary pg role well and has good size...didnt shoot it well from 3 this past year but think he has the opportunity to be a really good player

Seems that the same schools are on every transfers list. At some point, some of these schools have to be running out of scholly's.

Just curious, of Bolton, Jackson and Grill which do you think isn't a 2?

Grill is a 3, Bolton is a 2 and the belief was always that Tre could/should be a 1. I don’t think there is any reason to believe that Bolton and Grill couldn’t play together. Grill is a better rebounder and defender but Bolton has great straight-line drive ability.

You really don't think that if he had played better there weren't plenty of minutes available for him?

When we have played 3 or 4 out successfully, it worked best when a couple of them were closer to 6'5"+ than just all guard height, and at least one of them needs to be a vacuum cleaner on the boards.

I absolutely do. I was trying to portray the appropriate amount of sarcasm to Cyforce who seems to believe we invested in a 4 year player on May 7, 2019 and then promptly told him to pack his packs on May 28, 2019 when we signed Bolton. It’s even crazier since this staff invested an average of 22 minutes per game with him over the last 9 games. He would have had a great chance to be in the 8-9 man rotation this year and nobody from the program ran him off.
