Agree. It is ridiculously late. Start at 7:00 Central (8:00 Eastern)

Its tough, because 7 central would be 5pm pacific. 8:20 at least gives those on the west coast a chance to get home from work. And 11:20, when most regulation games would finish up in EDT, isnt that late for east coasters.

The problem is ultimately that all these games are played on a monday instead of having the final 4 on like a Friday\Sunday.

Everyone has been talking about how Gonzaga is trying to become the first unbeaten team to win the tournament since Indiana in 1976. Gonzaga is only the 5th team to enter the tournament unbeaten since then.

But the last one-loss team to win was NC State in 1974 (Two years before Indiana). There have been 25 one-loss teams fail to win the tournament since then. Only 4 made it to the championship. They were 1999 Duke, 2005 Illinois, 2008 Memphis AND 2017 Gonzaga.

Having a championship game at 5pm CT on a Sunday would be perfect.

I like the idea of Friday/Sunday. I assume from viewership it's less ideal/more restrictive/tight for time-slot window with the semifinal games compared to Saturday, but maybe Fri/Sun is better overall balance for the 3 games.

Roughly (Eastern Time)

Friday Final Four tip-offs:
8:10 pm & 10:40 pm

Sunday Championship:
7:20 pm

So I guess Baylor is back to playing well after their late season Covid pause/lull.
