W. Any way I'll take it. Take tomorrow and take the series and maybe some momentum into the weekend series.
His stuff has looked great, just major control issues. Locked on Brewers today was talking about Chris Hook noticing a flaw in his delivery that is an easy fix (one that he made 2 days ago after loading the bases then striking out the side on 11 pitches). So I'm not worried.Hope Devin W can return to his rookie season form sometime soon! Otherwise, a dominating pitching performance!! Go Crew - way to get "rowdy" today!!
Was at the game last night, sat in a sea of red. Houser pitched great, shame we couldn't get anything going offensively. At least we were able to get a series tie today (better than a series loss of course). Devin W continues to worry me - almost caused us to blow our lead today. Would like to have had last night's game over - gotta score more runs when awesome pitching only gives up a couple to the opponent!
This was my biggest concern going into the season. Our offense was not very good last year, but we have achieved an entirely new level of suckitude this year. I'm not very optimistic that it will get much better - hope I am wrong.Who knew that not scoring more than 2 runs isn't sustainable?
Today's game is #20. What is everyone's thoughts so far? Was this first small sample an indicator for the season in the Central? Who is the surprise player? who do we need to brush off the first 20 and press restart?
I think you are right on with this. Bats woke up a bit during the first game of the season, but we definitely need more of that.Starting Pitching - Pretty much is what we expect it to be. Freddy has got to be better, but Ashby and Lauer are studs.
Bullpen - Some good (Hader/Williams/Boxberger), some bad (Suter/Cousins/Milner), some awful (Urena). I'm waiting for Small to get the call to replace Urena within the next month or two.
Hitting - Oof'da, I'll blame Manfred's dead balls. At least it seems like K's are down this year and situational hitting is better.
Guys that need to shake off the first 20 - Kolten Wong and Narvaez
I haven't watched enough of the other Central teams when they aren't playing the Brewers to know who is surprising.
Record projection 90-72
