Too similar to AJ Green.

Anyone is with in reach. Broome is wanted by Kentucky too.

Lack of defense from both him and Strong. Big reason why Illinois St finished 5-13 in the MVC despite having those two guys. And a reason why Reeves didn't make 1st team All-MVC despite averaging 20 ppg.

We're recruiting Strong.

Record is a poor indicator of individual defense and how they'll play it here. Conditt and Jackson were on a horrible defense, 0-18 team. Bolton was a starter on a top-10 defense this year.

Btw, look at the records of who we added last year. Gabe was on a 6-14 Minn team, IB on a 7-12 Penn St team, and Kunc a 7-12 Washington St team, Jones on a 1-13 Denver team. Record watching on transfers is useless. Reeves may or may not fit, but it is based on Reeves.

Yes, ISU reached out to Strong to gauge interest as perhaps a Plan C wing recruit. The recruiting emphasis on him remains to be seen as ISU has reached out to an inordinate number of transfers due to having 3 probable schollies available.

And you missed the point on IL State's record. Their record was due in large part to substandard D by both Reeves and Strong as I watched them play a couple of times. In fact, the Athletic scouted Reeves as follows: "He has a long way to go as a passer and playmaker for others, and his defense leaves something to be desired." And Strong frankly wasn't much better on D.

Gabe, IZB, and Kunc all displayed good D for their prior teams despite their records which is why Otz recruited them.

Iowa St reached out to Strong because they have some interest despite whatever your views are on Illinois St. He's a capable defender and good shooter.


Did you watch Iowa St play in 2020-21 too? Or Denver in 2020-21, in which we grabbed Jones? Losing teams and programs can distort what a player can do. Coaching and team dynamics matter. This past season 5 players from Iowa State's horrible 2020-21 defense were apart of good defenses.
