whoa

Reed with another ridiculously close video

That is a mile directly south of where we lived in Andover. My aunt sent me a picture of it when it was roughly 1.5 miles from their house. If it would have been 100 yards further west it would have hit tons of residential areas.

Andover is kinda the birthplace of the "home video tornado."

The 1991 F5 that hit Andover was basically the first tornado widely filmed by, everyone. Right when the wave of everyone having a clunky, over the shoulder camcorder was taking over. Tore through a trailer park, and the sirens also failed. Pretty awful, notable storm for a handful of reasons.

The news crew that got footage while they hid under the overpass (you've seen it a million times, and that was actually horrible no good idea about where to hide) was also outside Andover that day...though I don't think that exact tornado.

So…. It seems like years ago people noted to take shelter under overpasses. Why did that change? Never mind. Googled it

I think we learned about this in a weather unit in high school, wasn't it pretty early in the year like early April?

Big severe week shaping up! It’s May now, so it’s OK season. Get to watch Mike “Wayne Newton” Morgan on KFOR. No one does it better than Mike when it comes to communicating over the airwaves imo.

I will probably have a triple set up:

KFOR coverage: Mike Morgan and Marc Dillard on the chase
KWTB coverage: (with my favorite “commercial” chaser Val Kastor and I prefer Chopper 9’s Jim Gardener to Mason on KFOR)
Live streams: (might have to start watching Reed Timmer again it looks like his luck is coming back after Andover)
