Means he’s consistently not getting many hits lol

He has a career batting average of .265. May want to take a closer look at his season history. He did hit just .224 last year but still mashed 32 HR and 75. He's had a couple off years like 2020 but prior to that his batting averages between 2014-2019 were anywhere from .273-.293 and OBP .376-.405 so to say he consistently was not getting many hits is inacurate. So far this season he's hitting .290 with 5 HR which is better than any of the Cubs current major league 1B.

Woof at this Caleb Killian 1st inning

He came back to pitch a respectable few innings after that awful first. Glad he gathered his composure a bit as he's better than that.

Any autograph experts on here? Went to the Iowa Cubs game today and my son got hit in the face by one of the t-shirts from the t-shirt cannon. One of the ushers brought him a signed ball to help cheer him up, but I didn’t notice until later it was signed. I’m thinking it could be Codi Heuer but not sure he ever pitched in Iowa

Yan Gomes hit in the head last night by a batter's backswing. Had to leave the game and supposedly Miquel Amaya is on his way to DC from AA in case they need to make a roster move. Hopefully nothing serious as Gomes has been pretty productive so far this season.

So Amaya does exist after all? I've been hearing about how's the next Contreras for about 5 years now but have never seen him play.

This is assuming Amaya doesn't get hurt getting off the plane or something. Guy just can't stay healthy.

He's been hurt a lot and had Tommy John surgery too so he's had multiple setbacks. Problem right now is the Cubs don't have another catcher than Amaya on the 40 man roster so would have to DFA someone if they wanted to bring up of sign another catcher not currently on the 40 man. Unless it's a serious concussion I don't think Amaya will get much time before being sent back down. MLB concussion IL is only 7 days so as long as it's not something more serious Gomes will not be out long hopefully.

Hindsight probably should of cut Rios loose instead of Torrens but neither will be on the roster come 2024 so Amaya gets a look.

If they're going to bring up Ben Brown to take Taillon's start on Thursday, Amaya makes a lot of sense to catch him. Let Amaya get a couple starts in the next week and then move him to Des Moines to be the full time guy there because Aliendo has earned the right to be the full time guy at Tennessee.

I think you go ahead and use the 7 day concussion IL for Gomes. He's way too valuable to this team to let anything nag at him all year plus it gives his knees a break.

Both catchers are signed through next year so I think Amaya gets all of 23 and at least half of 24 in Iowa for seasoning.
