Some nasty storms rolled through NE TX late Thursday night/Friday morning. Craziest lightning I've seen in a while. I haven't had power since 1 am Fri morning. Power company says it could be as long as Friday before it gets restored.

Checked radar early this afternoon. Showed rain here by 5 pm. Brought in clothes from the line, plants yet to be planted outdoors moved together on back table. Around 4 pm went for some groceries and watched sky to west/northwest get gray and cloudy, completely overcast. Before we got home, clouds parted and out came the sun.
I got nothin’ rain wise.

I'd been planning to smoke a brisket but saw on every outlet scattered showers and storms all afternoon, forecasts as recent as yesterday afternoon, so I ditched the brisket plans. The sun has been out all day.

North central Texas has been having a lot of large hail events the last several days. Terrible tornado in the pan handle Thursday. Dew point was a record 80° in DFW Thursday. One more chance of severe weather tonight and then we get hot!

Looks like close to 2 in. in the gauge. I always want to wait until rain is done to check, plus it’s still lighting and thundering, too. Tomorrow morning will be fine for getting rain total and any plant damage.

I'll post mine Sunday night, but it actually turned into a nice rain for which I am really thankful for.

Been pouring in Ankeny for a while now. Using the screen door on my slider so I can listen to it coming down. Forgot what that sounded like. So nice!

I love just sitting out in the garage watching and listening. It’s my serenity.

This is what Iowa farmers call a million dollar rain. Very thankful.

Apple weather sucks. I don't need to see a rain icon when there's only a 25% chance of rain in my area. I dunno how they bought Dark Skies and managed to ruin it.

Yeah it’s been awful for a few months. It used to be pretty damn good. Camping on Red Rock and it’s been a 30-50% chance of rain on the hourly forecast since about noon. Looks like we’re finally going to get some rain around 11:00 pm.
