When I watch the news I just want the facts and no opinions by the reporters. The forced banter between anchors at the telecast end are cringe worthy. The sports guy that straps a device on his hand and then waves it around while he gets wound up is bad. I doubt reporters get paid much. Maybe a guy like Kevin Cooney who was the lead anchor and led highest ranked news for a long time. Ch 8 has misfired lately on weather starting with Jason Sadeko & now Chris. Odd guys.

Oh in a market like that I believe it especially decades ago. I would feel comfortable saying most of the talent in DSM is making 45-60, CR 40-55. The market size just doesn’t support it for what they make these days. The times of news stations basically printing money are long over.

Very popular local anchor left evening news to go into my former industry/company. I knew then they must pay absolute **** to on air talent because I just about doubled up salary when I left.

I watched KCCI a couple months ago when we were having a severe weather outbreak. Chris was covering some of the storms and seemed to be really struggling. He was breathing funny and struggling to explain what was going on. I turned to the other station because it made me a bit uncomforable watching Chris struggle so much. I'm not a mental health expert, but it seemed like he was struggling with some anxiety issues at that time.

Rain is forecast for Twin Cities, could temporary provide some much needed relief.

.10" for the month at MSP station. My forecast is that it is never going to rain again.

Been planning/organizing a fly-in breakfast for a number of months. Sunday morning, of course there is a forecast for potential ran and likely gusty winds. F me.

We lived here in 1988. (See attachment)

Since we’ve moved back: #3 record winter snowfall, below normal spring temps and now this nice reminder.

Was away for a week. Just drove in did quick yard walkabout. Ferns are down, ginger is wilted and azalea and rhododendrons leaves are also wilted or curled up. 85% of lot is shade so lots of shade loving plants that are not loving living in a northern shade desert.

1988 was very dry and hot in my area. We sprayed beans for spider mites, they are very small, hard to see. I told the ISU Extension guy I didn’t want to spend the money. He told me if they get bad enough you won’t combine beans. I sprayed. 80% chance of rain on Saturday, I will take a 1/2” , need eveerything we can get right now.
