I'm sorry, PCA on first, Nico at the plate, you gotta steal or bunt, and we did neither.

Feels like Tucker hasn’t done anything this summer so looked it up.

.225 batting average
1 HR
9 RBI
.662 OPS

He had an amazing start but can’t disappear like he has…

People bash the pitching but we have about a half dozen guys who have simply forgotten how to hit a baseball

Tucker is one of baseball's top 10-15 players. Just don't see him on the same tier as: Judge, Ohtani or Soto. Or have the same media cache that sells tickets. What he has going for him is a pretty weak FA market this offseason. Tucker, Alonso and Schwarber are the big names. There are some opt-outs like Bregman who could impact the market, but otherwise not many hitters you'd pencil in 2/3/4 in a lineup.

Tucker doesn't have elite slug, is a .270 hitter and will be 30 next season. No way I see him getting a $500M contract. I would think any GM is going to feel Tucker has ideally 8 years left. So my guess the best Tucker is looking at is $350M. And that was based on Tucker's early season play.

Schwarber is 33 and strictly a DH. It wouldn't surprise me if the Cubs couldn't get Schwarber for half the speculation on Tucker. He's a good fit- go with an OF of: Suzuki, PCA, Caissie/? and DH Schwarber.
If he continues current pace, he may not even get $400. Tucker is good but not at the level of Otani and Judge.

Boog mentioned the other day that his hand injury from 6 weeks or so ago was still bothering him. Which would make some sense— just no power

Says something about the current state of the cubs that I’m excited Willy Castro is up this inning

Yeah never putting PCA in motion there seemed like a major miss. Just not fun baseball to watch when the Cubs are at the plate for a very long stretch now

We going to be closer to the last wildcard than we are the Brewers possibly.

3 freaking hits and that's even with the Reds starter having to leave with an injury in the 2nd inning.
