I'm gonna save my complaints about the pitching until the offense pulls their head out of their ass. #1 in MLB in runs per game on the season, but if you go since July 1st, we are 20th

Lot of career .240 hitters that strike out a lot are all batting .240 and striking out a lot

I don’t believe that necessarily. Miller has had a disappointing season thus far. I believe long term Mason is really really good.
He has had a disappointing season thus far but he is pitching better lately. He will have a long and successful career barring injuries. Relying on career mediocre pitchers like Flexen, Pomeranz, Brasier, and Thielbar is not an answer for a long term success.

I still feel we could have gotten a non injured pitcher for the two prospects we gave up. I’m not sure why Jed was so fixated on Soroka.
He is looking for a bargain. Instead of paying for proven top tier players, Jed wants to bring in mediocre players and hope they play well above their career averages.

Going to be a frustrating and disappointing season if they don't get things turned around soon. Offense is in a funk and pitching has regressed and come back down to earth especially the middle of the bullpen. IMO if they don't win the division or even worse go in a tailspin here and miss the playoffs entirely it all boils down to Jed and the FO holding onto all these prospects and not having the balls to make the moves this team needed to compete this season. It started in the offseason when we traded what we did for Tucker which many thought was a sign they were ready to spend and instead we went shopping in the bargain bin the rest of the offseason. We knew pitching was going to be an issue coming into the season and when Steele went down it just made it even more obvious. Go into the All-Star break with 1 of the best records in baseball and you think that means we'll fill in the missing pieces at the trade deadline. I think Castro and the bullpen guys were a good addition, but we failed once again to get an impact starting pitcher and now it turns out we traded for one that was already damaged goods when we got him so we're right back in the same place where we were before the deadline where we don't even have 5 starters again.

My wife and I are headed to Busch stadium for the games on Friday and Saturday. We are staying right next to the stadium. Does anyone have any good recommendations for places to eat/ things to do during the day?

Although according to this thread we should probably just cancel the trip.

The downtown City Museum is fun, and of course, don’t pass up the Arch! St. Louis also has a very nice zoo.
