OK so wife and I are flying out of DSM down the Fort Myers Florida Saturday early afternoon with some family. Family now wants to change to Friday morning 7am flight instead. If there isn't much of a problem Saturday flying out would be my preference because I have to much work to do to miss all of Friday. Other than the "you're getting out of the cold so switch to Friday" opinions, is there any reason I should think Saturday afternoon flights might be an issue? App on my phone says high of 26 and 1" of snow currently....altho same app said 4" of snow for last night into today and we have more than that now with more to come it sounds like. Thanks for the answers
I can't imagine that Saturday is going to be any worse than today in terms of flying. Looking at the Des Moines airport website, some flights have been delayed, but most have departed within an hour of their scheduled time.

I flew out of Cedar Rapids in 2011 the morning after we got something like 16" of snow. I couldn't use highway 30 to get there because of the snow had it closed, but was able to make it to I 80 and 380. I think you'll be ok.

Got it. Sorry, I'm a little slow.

Last year, someone on this board posted that they couldn't get to the game later in the evening because of a blizzard so he transferred his tickets to me for free. Court side, about 12 rows up. I drove from Ankeny through that blizzard for those seats. Wife thought I was nuts.

Houston game?

I used to work at the Cedar Rapids airport, and I can vouch for the crews who keep the runways and taxiways plowed. No matter how much it snows, they are on top of it.

I can’t vouch as strongly for them plowing the parking lots (because I wasn’t paying attention to that part), but I think they do very well with those, too.

Naso's, not a Zoey's fan. I'd take Tomaso's over Zoey's every day of the week.
I remember Tomaso's being pretty solid as well. Honestly I always thought the calzones at Zoey's were the best thing on their menu, better than the pizzas. Naso's is just as old school cool as it gets. Grew up around there.

Naso's runs two for one 4 piece broasted chicken dinners Monday nights. Easy way to feed the fam for $16.

This thread is a mix of crying bust the moment snow is forecasted, memories of walking to school in a foot of snow uphill both ways when we were kids, and penis jokes.
Typical CF snow thread IMO.
