Get up into the mountains in New Mexico its not bad at all, best time to visit, much like Colorado or Utah.

That doesn't sound to bad, July and August are the rainy season, and temps in the low to mid 90s, but low humidity. It's the humidity that kills you in Dallas and Houston, much like Florida, get away from that, and 90s are not bad at all.
