***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

Thanks! I'm going to do some research on this option. Appreciate the suggestion!
I got one as Amazon lost the other one temporarily (supposed to arrive today). Put it in the master bedroom late yesterday afternoon and cranked it up to 10. Ended up dropping the temperature about 2 degrees in the first few hours. It is kind of loud, so I dropped the fan from 10 to 7 for sleeping (even though we have a sound machine) and this morning, the temperature was the same as the main level. You can also hear the sound of it coming from other vents in the house (not obnoxiously loud, but it's there), but that's okay with me since it works. I think once I get the second one in the spare bedroom, I'll be able to drop both of them to 5 full time.

Wow, that sounds even better than I expected! I won't mind the sound very much because I like the white noise while I'm sleeping. I'm going to pull the trigger and order one to start with and then probably two more if the first one works.

Appreciate your feedback!

I'm certainly happy. My wife turned the fan off on the vent this morning because she was cold, so it's definitely an improvement.

I am way behind on this thread and it opened up to June 30 and talk of duct boosters. Not going to read through 10 pages of catchup but thought I toss out the advice of running your furnace fan 24/7.

I have a big addition with 8" ducts and new furnace/AC is centrally located in that area. Getting air through the long run to the old smaller ducts leaves the two 1960 era bedrooms undercooled or under heated. Running the fans 24/7 keeps the air moving and helps balance things out some. There is "recirculate" setting but that runs too slow and too infrequently to do much IMHO. The constant air movement also helps keep the basement walkout level less humid, it's open stairs and no door to that level which also helps with the air.

BTW, we are going to die in the heat and high dewpoints next week so it probably won't matter! ;)
