I welcome all the rains

What the **** are you talking about?? It was 98-100 degrees, 77 dew point, feels like in the 110s. That is the literally definition of bad out.

I live near Madison WI and it barely got to 80 and was forecast most of the day.

That's what the **** I'm talking about.

Lows in the 50s tomorrow night. Yes please.

Storm is drawing in some serious wind in Des Moines. Gotta be at least 50 mph.
We had a crazy east-west gust in Johnston around 7:30 that blew my neighbor's tree over as I was standing on my porch watching. Then it calmed down like 2 minutes later.

I turned back to network for a minute and saw 75 mph gusts.

I’m in a beaverdale brick type neighborhood lined with very mature birch trees. So I’m expecting a power outage at some point.

Bad is when you have to sit through a baseball or softball tournament. Took the day off I donated plasma, got a sandwich in Norwoodville, and grabbed a few groceries for blts tonight. Yes I got tomatoes from a stand. So I didn’t think it was that bad.
Just because you weren’t outside doesn’t make it not bad outside, lol. What?

Going to be difficult to get a rain amount here in N. Ames because of the high winds we were getting during the storm. Just checked my gauge and it was almost 3 inches, so I would say we got at least 2.5 here in N. Ames. My gauge tends to run heavy.
West Ames north of Ontario - we got 2.8. Winds started to remind me of the derecho, but nothing blown down or out of place here.

Well after all that rain and it seems like quite a lot of wind, not only is my neighbor's tree still standing (and not on my roof), but my sump pump has successfully kept 2-4 inches of water out of my basement this time. Safe for now...
