I'll say this.. I'm pissed we lost and incredibly annoyed that the full court heave went in but I'd take that loss all day rather than how Kansas just lost to Houston. A loss is a loss is a loss but that was a meltdown and entirely preventable in numerous ways. Ours was basically make one free throw + hoping a guy doesn't hit one of the most difficult shots in basketball.

There are a ton of basketball games happening every year so yes we do see shots like this happen, but it's not at a high clip at all. It's actually very very low. A much higher percent shot is a throw to half court to a quick pass to someone else for someone 20+ feet shorter.
Do you see shots like that go in? Sure. Every now and then ESPN has a highlight from some D3 program or some backwater high school makes a miracle shot to win like that and they include the grainy video shot from the stands on someone's smart phone in the top 10 plays. The fact that ESPN would show a shot like that regardless of who made it or where it was made should tip someone off as to how rare it is.

Some days you feel pretty dumb but then you open this thread and read posts talking about how having less points and giving up easier shots is the best defense.

Exactly. If I told you, without knowing the outcome, the other team had to shoot a 60 footer to tie the game, a 70 footer to win the game, or foul a guy 60 ft from the basket to send them to the line with time left to potentially have a tip in to tie off a miss, what would you pick?

Yeah no way we quit. We got beat because a guy that can't shoot the basketball suddenly is Steph Curry. His whole career Love has been a chucker. He was a chucker last night and was 1-10. Then hits a lucky shot. Then drills like 3 straight 3's. Just stupid luck. He could not do that exact scenario again every. Not in the next 200 games he plays could he pull that same thing off. He just happen to do it against us. We didn't quit.
Love reminds me of Pop Isaacs. Can absolutely shoot you into or out of a game, and it's usually out of. We got the bad side of that one last night.

Honestly, that was such a fluke shot, this thread is more of a meltdown than the actual game.

It's turned into a therapy thread which is just fine, for today. Get over it and look forward to poonTANG coming in for some serious abuse.

I get that Arizona got a lucky buzzard beater to send this to overtime, but this ISU squad completely quit and didn’t bother showing up for overtime. I’m starting to get worried about this team as we looked completely pedestrian against WVU and Arizona. This team isn’t a 1 seed anymore and until they stop playing down to lesser opponents they won’t be the elite team we thought they were.
WUT?!

Anything happen in between the West Virginia and Arizona games? Did the Kansas game not happen? UCF?

Worst post of the thread.

+\- is an awful metric. It wasn’t a great half by him but he does some things out there too. We are in the second of two road games in 3 days, we have to have subs
Let me try another metric. He had more fouls than pts and rebounds combined. 3 to 2.

Yeah... the guys who are like "I've seen it happen!" Think it's common because they don't show the times where the shot is missed... ie 99%

Is "all of the above"a selection?
In other words no 100% right answer. All you need to know.
