Having lived in Austin, I can honestly say that Texans are the nicest people I have ever met. That is, until they get behind the steering wheel and they all want to kill you with their vehicle.

All rationality goes out the window, traffic laws, physics…they don’t care. You are inhabiting space that they either want to inhabit or are pissed that you exist.

I hate Texas.

Just curious, does anyone on this board know if officials discuss games/teams before the game? For example, do they discuss the return of TH and the possible hostile crowd and/or not letting teams get chippy and/or things they watch for knowing the tendencies of teams? I mean, I hope not, but they are human after all.
Yes. And I would not be surprised to see them call it close in the beginning so things don’t start to get out of hand.

If they’re actually good referees, they’ll have this conversation amongst themselves and then with both coaches.

Side-note I just realized - Marcus Carr and Lindell Wigginton were freshman the same season (2017-18).
Is this right? I feel like 2021-22 would have been Lindell's last possible season of eligibility

17-18 Frosh
18-19 Soph (left)
19-20 JR
20-21 Senior
21-22 Covid Senior.

So Marcus must have either had a medical redshirt or some other kind of redshirt year

Carr started at Pitt before transferring to Minnesota (didn't know that til I looked it up just now). So he sat out the '18-'19 season under the old transfer rules. Explains how he's still playing.

Glad to see Tyrese is fitting in nicely to his stated goal of being more of a role player.

I see his last outing he almost had a "Tony Snell". That's hard to do.
At least he gets to accomplish his unstated goal (the real one) of cashing checks.

would we have TJ in this "dream" scenario though?
Fair question I actually ponder often.

I have always been of the opinion that the second-to-final nail in Prohms coffin - even though it seemed like a good thing at the time - was that class with THT and Haliburton. If THT stays 2 years and Haliburton 3 (which is probably what most people expected) one could argue we wouldn’t have completely tanked the way that we did.

So while it was an absolutely brutal stretch to go through - especially and obviously the 2 win season - it appears currently that it was the best thing for our program in the long term.

We keep those guys longer it’s possible we wallow in mediocrity for longer and Prohm doesn’t get the boot like he did.
