I'm real curious how this team will do in physicality and speed with conference teams.

Iowa wasn't good but at least the length provided an OK sample...ISU showed some promise in rebounding/defense against it in the 2nd half.

A Baylor-like team will be tough.

Anyone have the stats for the +- point differential for when Beverly is on the court. Just want to see if I am unfair to him or not. My perception is that it is not good at all.

I agree, I find myself thinking Jackson is killing us and then he strings together several threes in a row. He can really shoot the 3.

His shot has been a bit flat a the last couple of games which is usually due to tired legs. Now that finals are over, he will hopefully regain his earlier form.

Shot seemed to have more arc in the 2nd half.

I think we are going to be pleasantly surprised by this team 60 days from now. So many rotation, lineup/combo opportunities that we haven’t had in a long time(2014) and we are just at the tip of the iceberg. For example, Babb, Wig, Brase, Lard and Young. This a rotation that would matchup well against more physical teams, an option we haven’t had in some time. It’s going to be exciting to watch this team develop and ultimately I think we are going to be very good.

You can probably make an argument for both ways, but think about a “highly rated team” or “highly rated player”.

A top 10 team would be considered highly ranked.

A top 30 recruit would be a highly ranked recruit, not the kid who is ranked #250 or whatever.

Oh, I get it. It's just weird that we use high or low to mean opposite things depending on the context.

Sluggish 20-point win, bigger fish to fry.

A couple of nuggets, per Associated Press:
* Alcorn State hasn't beaten a D-1 school in non-conference play since 2012.
* Weiler-Babb's streak of games with at least 10 assists snapped at four. (He had only 9 assists -- gasp!!)

Prohm said on his post game that this will be a year of teaching. Lewis learned a lesson tonight when he reacted to a ref's call, and was immediately pulled and was probably told that it's the coach's job to question the ref. Good move coach.
Also....the game seems to be slowing down for Lewis....great energy by him tonight!

It's gotta be tough to recruit for Alcorn State with stats like that hanging out there.

Seems like that'd pose a challenge. I suppose plenty of players would like to play D-1 bball regardless, if they can stand out, they could transfer up to a bigger school, or there's a chance to play for a team that gets auto-bid to tournament. (Most recent time that happened at Alcorn was 2002, league dominated by Tx So, Southern and Alabama State for past decade).

I cannot understand why he has a green light to shoot the three....or, well, anything but a layup.

Here let me help you. If he hits one of 2 it proves he should be guarded out there and it stretches the defense. He really doesnt take them at bad times. He just needs to continue to pick his spots that arent at critical points in the game. Plus he needs to hit one.

Yeah, great thought, but he’s 0-13.

What you described is no where near what Beverly is. Teams are not going to defend him out there regardless of how many times he shoots it. It’s likely there’s nothing they want more.

I agree with the 0-13 part. But I think the idea has been he would hit a couple. I would assume his shot selection will become more limited per CSP

Beverly hits that 10 footer pretty silky smooth. Surprises me he isn't landing one or two threes. At this point he is a shield for Brase and Lard. Once those two are up to speed, things will get interesting with line ups.

I get confused with air conditioning. If someone says to turn the air up, does that mean turn the temp up so it’s not as cold or turn the power up to make it colder?
I get confused by "dress warm". Does that mean less clothes because it is warm outside, or more clothes to stay warm in cold weather?
