Prediction: The Auburn PxP guy may still be drunk from the football game Saturday. Heard his call live on the radio cause I was driving. Epic.

Auburn appears to do only a couple things well, getting to line often and offensive rebounding. It'll be a good test in those regards as those are two things Iowa does well too.

They have several 7 footers that don't do much. Most of their scoring comes from 6'4" G Chris Denson and 6'2" G KT Harrell.

Denson is averaging 20 pts a game and a third of them from the FT line as he gets there 10+ times per game. Neither are great 3pt shooters, but Harrell will put it up - he takes almost 5/game but is shooting 28%.

They also start a 5'10" Freshman PG who doesn't score much, averages 3.4asts and a 2-1 Asst-TO ratio

Their starting forwards are a 6'6" wing an a 7'0" center. Neither score, but the big guy gets almost 4 offensive rebounds a game.

They have 5 guys on the bench who play 12-15mpg, but none of them score much.

As a team they shoot very poorly from 3pt range (24.7%) and defend the 3pt line poorly (giving up 41.8%).

This shouldn't be a tough game, but they have guys who can go off if we aren't mentally in the game. I think this game is much "trickier" than the UMKC game, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it be a tight game into the second half when we pull away. I'd guess we'll struggle with foul trouble a bit as well. It feels like a game where Ejim and Niang each pick up a couple of quick cheap ones and don't play much in the first half.

So in other words you're saying they have great depth. We're screwed.

I'm sure these guys are chomping at the bit to get back out there after some exciting games the past week.
18 point favorites, and a chance to shine on ESPN2 (or is it U?) on a slow day. Get it done!

I thought this was only on ESPNU.

We should get 2 wins out of the week. Not sure how big wins over Auburn and UNI will be, since neither one is that impressive. We'll get the wins that we can out of this week.

Every win gets bigger from here on out. Real chance to enter Big XII undefeated, will be very tough but would be huge for a young team.

Can't put too much into this guy's ballot. In his article he said he moved Oklahoma State up to #3 because of their big win against Memphis....uh, OSU lost that game.:twitcy:

Well Technically They Did Beat Memphis Earlier In The Week. Not Sure When The Article Was Written.

As of today:
Top 10 in scoring offense
Top 10 in 3-pt Field Goals
Top 15 Assist to turnover ratio
Top 20 in FG %
Top 20 in Rebound Margin
Top 35 in fouls per game (fewest obviously)
Top 50 in Scoring Defense

If ISU can continue to do these things well and get the scoring defense down just a bit, they are going to have a fine season. Forget about the ranks. The ranks will come with doing these things well.

It's exciting to see how well this team is clicking so early on. That just gives me reason to believe the teamwork and unity will continue to get stronger and this team could go toe to toe with Kansas and Oklahoma State! (Among others, of course:smile:)

True. I miss Cyclone basketball. It's been a long week.

A fun football game and other holiday distractions helped, but this week really made sympathetic to how Iowa fans must have felt the first couple weeks of the season. It just sucks listening to the media go on and on about a big game for your rival while you're stuck playing a lousy cupcake.

Chris is obviously asleep, so I'll fill in:

Hope the guys are ready to play after having a week off. Can't let Auburn come in and upset us.

Call it cocky, but until proven differently, I feel confident we'll win any game played at Hilton. If not for a screw job, we'd have the longest home winning streak in the nation. Anything can happen, but I'm confident in Fred and this team at home. The road or neutral court games are the ones I'll be more worried about a slip up.
