I just love all the articles written before the game how we weren't overlooking Tech. Obviously we did. Now we have to almost win out cause with another loss, we're going to the Not In Tourney. I'm just wondering if we can play any worse than last nights performance?

It's definitely a terrible loss but our RPI dropped to only 45, which is much better than I thought it would be. This loss wasn't a season ender but definitely made it an uphill climb. Win 4 out of the next 5 and we're right back in it.

We at least have a shot with that RPI. We put our own backs against the wall, but we have a chance to fight our way back to the tourney discussion.

That RPI is surprisingly good news.

Because teams don't have up and downs, what happens today will definitely happen tomorrow?
Actually, we should have seen this coming. Several of the early games, then Iowa, WVa,Yale TCU, all marked by less than we are capable of. If you look at the overall record, we have only played one whole game, KU. Lots of talent here, but no team.

and thats updated??? Thought we would drop to around 60, a win against K State would go a long ways!

Beating K-State at home would solve a lot of problems if we don't lay another turd somewhere. And if Kansas doesn't lose until Hilton and we get them there, everything will be hearts and puppies around here again.

I'd certainly say that Texas was a whole game. Last year I thought we played very few whole games though, KU at home, and then both Uconn and Kentucky in the tourney. I call Kentucky a full game because we played well IMO, it's just that the shots weren't falling. Key is to peak at the end of the season. Fred's goal at this point should simply be to get them to the tourney, and then have them playing their best ball in March.

The thing is that the season is nearly 60% over, and ISU looks to be completely discombobulated over the last three games, and the upcoming competition is getting much better. It's not really "way to early" anymore. We're getting to the point in the season where the team identity is what is it, and the chances of significantly changing that identity are small, and become smaller as each game passes. For a team that is playing as poorly as ISU is now, that's not a good place to be.

Last year at this time, RW was emerging as the go-to guy and the "team chemistry" was coming together around him. This year, there seems to be no leader emerging and no team chemistry. Again, that's not a good place to be with over 1/2 of the games already played.

The old drive the lane and kickout for the open shot from KU game has not translated to the last three games. We do not have a RW or Scotty go to guy in the clutch. This was heavily evident last night. Watching the last three games of struggle, ME and Babb should shoot more and KL and Clyburn less. Why take crap shots and hope for rebounds to recover from the mistake? Pass the ball. Have an outlet available.

Free throws? Ugh. That first shot of two free throws has recently been short. We can do better. 60% free throws last night. 35% shooting. Outrebounded by 9. How were we even in the game?
