As far as I'm concerned, if you can get a top 100ish guy, you take him. I know a grad transfer would make a more immediate impact, but I'm patient, and would be fine with it.
Yeah, that is fair and I usually(like, always) agree, but He's basically the same type of player as Lindell from what I have gathered and I think that just adds clutter to our backcourt. Idk, maybe it is just because I am really content with Darius McNeill.

I think we'll have the room, and you never know which guy will be better.

Jackson will be gone in a year. I like the sound of Wigginton, McNeil, Blake, and Babb going into 18-19

We're going to find out if we're going to build a team to peak in the next few years or if we're going to go with the Hoiberg plan with Wigginton and Lewis as the new Morris/Thomas and fill in the pieces as needed to try to stay up.

I don't see him ever playing pg. More of a mismatch wing imo.
He's a guard, I don't think we have one true PG. And from what I've read, Blake Harris is listed as PG, but like Lindell, plays a more combo game. Could be wrong, just thought it added clutter to a backcourt that already didn't have defined roles, really.

But I would never be mad about getting a top 125 - 4* guy, ever.

Agreed. And as much as I think Prohm wants to go the prep route so he can have more established success, I think he understands that he needs to keep this program nationally relevant, now. Will be fun to watch things unfold in the coming months.

I think it's the latter. Prohm has mentioned a few times before that he likes to get preps, jucos, and transfers in every class. I love that to keep classes balanced while maintaining an older/experienced roster.

It really isn't a question of what we'll try to do, but whether we can do it imo. Stay up and keep up! Only antiquated Hawk fans think it's a choice.

We don't add guys like Bowie and Holden to a class of 4 senior starters if we're not prioritizing winning now imo.

When there's ample scholarships available, I have no problem with potentially striking out on a Holden type. It means Prohm is at least trying.

Plus it's a given the scholarship will be there, so he can recruit HS kids hard in the summer and fall. Which is when programs like Iowa St have to get their prep recruits.

Currently there's only one scholarship available for next year. That makes for a very difficult and awkward recruiting season. I'd much rather have at least two, so you can go after a "need" and a big fish "want."

We will get at least one grad transfer and there will be attrition every year. We aren't going to have only one scholarship open at this time next season.
