If we get Stokes this year and Fleming next year, we would own the low block and I think most team will be very afraid to enter the paint against us. Those are two big dudes that are very skilled. They would be great adds.

Let's not forget Kosongo will be eligible to play next year plus both Young and Carter will be a year older. Potential is there. It has been a long time since ISU had that much strength and depth in the font court. First things first though Stokes visit is inching closer.

Interview with Race Thompson, appears he's becoming a staff priority.
“I would say for sure Iowa State and Marquette are recruiting me the hardest,” Thompson told NY2LA Sports.

Thompson took an unofficial visit to Iowa State in early September. “I like their style of play,” he said. “I like what I can do within that offense. The players get along well and I like how the coaches interact with the players. It was definitely something that looks fun.”

I read that quote as "Either I'll go to Iowa State right away, or I'll go to Iowa State later after I get sick of Marquette."

We have something Marquette does not--a whole bevy of players that were successful here that can speak first-hand to the difference between the experience in both schools and basketball programs.

I loved me some Hoiball but those offensive rebounds were frustrating.

There is no doubt that the structure of a Hoiball team had both its pluses and minuses, and post-defending and any type of rebounding tended to be in the minuses category. I'm just thankful we at least had Ejim on the rebounding front for some of those years. However, without him, it was quite the struggle.

Race Thompson got an ISU crystal ball pick earlier, although these picks don't mean a whole lot at this point, IMO

Ramey coming to Ames for a visit. Very highly regarded with multiple programs evaluating.

@AlexHalsted 018 4-star PG Courtney Ramey tells @CycloneAlert247 he'll take an unofficial visit to Iowa State on Oct. 8: bit.ly/2deXVMP
