That won't stop folks from using them to complain. This board is a "What did you do for me in the last couple of weeks."

It also won't stop people from claiming every underrated player is going to be Tyrese Haliburton. Tyrese and to an extent Solomon (Tre could be the 3rd) are the only recruits this staff has brought in that played above their recruiting rating. 2, maybe 3 guys in 5 years isn't "the last couple of weeks".

Rivals scout released his rankings on Sallis's top 12 contenders.
Not to give away the article but ISU got a bit of backhanded complement rank IMO.

Cam Lard's ceiling was way above his recruiting ranking (90.37% on 247 Sports).

Of course, we all know the other issues that he came with.

George Conditt IV might still join your category above depending on how the back half of his career goes.

We will see how the four freshmen this year do. Early reports on Blackwell are strong.

I'm super excited about the '20 class. I don't think '21 will be as good but it honestly doesn't need to be. You are looking at Harris, Bolton, Jackson, Johnson, Hinson and Conditt plus the '20 recruits, that's a solid group especially when you throw Hunter in the mix. There isn't a ton of PT or even a likely role that will need filled. Talent wise, it's tough to beat the team he had Monte's senior year but that roster looks to be Prohm's deepest, most versatile and balanced roster he's had here.

With the early signing period next week, are we really expecting to sign only one player? Or will someone else commit before then?

Just checking. I don’t follow BB recruiting like I once did.

While i acknowledge JUCO talent as a whole has declined the last few years with the rise of prep schools, i wish this ISU staff would place more emphasis on JUCO recruits. IHCC has been very good to ISU over many coaching staffs and seemingly every year they have 2-3 solid recruits

The only JUCO recruits i can recall Prohm landing are
  • Donovan Jackson
  • Jordan Ashton (walk-on)
  • Emmanuel Malou... kinda... sorta...

I thought all three of them were TJ guys to some degree, too.

Prohm has tried, though. He lo$t out on Juiston and the guy who went to Kan$a$.

Year 6 and i still don’t understand this staffs recruiting strategy
They recruit the South East particularly Tennessee and Florida 1st, hit up the neighboring states next. Its pretty easy to follow.

Prohm took the lead on D-Jax for sure, and I'm thinking he did on Malou too.

I worded my original post poorly. I understand how this staff recruits, i don’t understand why they recruit that way. It’s my opinion their strategy is poor considering the history of successful ISU recruits and players and where they come from.

Shoot - Prohms top 5 highest ranked recruits he’s landed came from:
  1. Canada
  2. Illinois
  3. Wisconsin
  4. Iowa
  5. Illinois

who is the best SE recruit prohm has landed?

Which has, and continues to be, a very bizarre strategy consider we've not pulled a single impact player from down there. Hopefully Blackwell and Walker change that trend.

91.51% = Blackwell (Florida)
91.26% = Dubar (North Carolina)
90.37% = Lard (Louisiana)
89.04% = Jackson III (South Carolina)
88.93% = Anderson (Florida)
87.43% = Walker (Georgia)
83.85% = Carter (North Carolina)

Unless I missed somebody.

Jackson’s primary recruiter, fellow Milwaukee native T.J. Otzelberger, has moved on and is now the head coach at South Dakota State.

The kid from IHCC who would now fill a glaring roster need is Tomas Woldetensae. Prohm had another opportunity to address the PG need in the spring and didn't.
