Hopefully seeing how Matty Ice developed into an NBA player is enticing. Remember he couldn't guard a fence post when he got here. Also Naz's development shows shooters will prosper under Prohm.

Agree that DeVries could develop if he's patient and like Matt was a very good 3rd option on a very good team. Is that something he wants to do though. Espcially with his Dad also being his coach at Drake where he'd be the star early.

I also may just not be getting my hopes up as I see Drake as the choice tonight so easier to just minimize his game rather than focus on his positives. Jared has a good shot, solid handle and size for the postion plus his has a good feel for the game. I'd be pleased with the pickup.

I think that had more to do with Naz than anything else. Naz played what 3 years under Hoiberg and basically 1 for Prohm? I know he had an injury and sat out a year under Prohm too, but was there much development in that year from where he was his junior year?

He definitely became a more complete player for his final season. From his junior year, points went up from 10 to 15, and rebounds, assists, steals, and field goal percentage all went up. Field goal percentage went up largely because his ball handling and driving improved, so he increased the number of two point shots he took more than he increased the number of three pointers.

I stand by the meaning of my post. If you can shoot the three at a high percentage, you can thrive in Prohm's system. Plus those 2 were vastly improved under Prohm.

Yes, there was. He became much more effective driving to the hoop his last year.

I don't think they go that route. They may tho I guess.
They only have two Seniors. Granted there will probably be a transfer but it's not going to be a big class. I can see them just waiting until Spring and if they find a Freshman they like good but if not just hit transfer to fill what they think is a hole in the roster.

Freshmen class is too good to do that. Add two or three guys to Hunter and we will be stacked for the future.

Add a bunch if transfer and our future looks for greener pastures.

No, you don't not recruit someone just because a kid might transfer. And it wouldn't be a bunch. There are only two Seniors. Also, adding two guys next to Hunter that are fall back guys isn't making the roster stacked for the future.

There is also the rumor that eligibility might be "frozen" for a year.

Not sure what Young and JCL would want to do if they could come back, though.

Both/either might feel it is time to move on with their life.

Or they could pick up more on their graduate programs. Up to them.

Assuming the freeze actually happens, though.

Yes, you have 5 juniors and 4 freshmen. Your focus should be high school. Otherwise you end up with an 8 man senior class. Of course you always take the best player available but the focus should be a great 2021 high school class to ensure a solid team for years to come.
