Blackmon had come into that game having caught 480 yards and 6 touchdowns in the previous 3 games. To hold someone of that talent ability to 99 yards and touchdown is shutting him down.

First off. His QB was a definite heisman candidate and blackman was easily the best wideout in college football last year. Johnson played him better then anyone that year. I wish i knew how many times Weeden threw to blackmon that game only to have it tipped away or put out of position by johnson and even picked off a pass. Johnson played blackman as best as he possibly could. some of those yards might have been particularly when johnson wasnt covering him or even on the field but a huge reason why iowa state won that game was how well johnson played. no question about it
