And I'm sure there are many that can confidently say Messi is the better player.
In the last 2 years Ronaldo has won the Euros, champions league twice (3 times in a row), Ballon d'Or twice, and scored 103 goals. Messi is great but Ronaldo is just on another level
And yet, people will still believe Messi is the best. Again, just like the MJ vs Lebron debate. Not worth having
I feel bad for Messi just like I felt bad for LeBron this year. They both had a **** team around them and still carried their teams to the final basically themselves (Messi in 2014 World Cup, Leborn this year) The way Messi played in 14 he deserved a title.
This year his team is just garbage and his manager is an idiot. Idk how you don’t play a player the caliber of Dybala. I don’t care if he plays Messi’s position, a player as good as him you find a way to play him somewhere else.
I don’t think it’s clear to say Ronaldo is better. I think Ronaldo is an amazing goal scorer but Messi is a better passer and dribbler. Plus Messi is 3 years younger and most all of Ronaldo’s records are attainable for Messi to pass before his career is over.
I do still think though that Ronaldo has and insane work ethic and his fitness is at an insane level. He is probably one of the most mentally tough players of all time and that’s why you seem to notice him in clutch situations as well which is very impressive. Messi I think has more shear talent but don’t think he’s at Ronaldo’s level for work ethic or fitness.

Messi had a great 2014 Cup but he also had 2-3 other world class players. This Argentina team was good on paper, so far everyone has underproformed
Yes, on paper. But for some reason that team is the most disfunctional of the entire tournament and their manager has better players sitting on the bench than starting.
Cause messi seems like he’s been doing it forever. Ronaldo has always been an awesome goal scorer his whole career, but he really put his full skills on display the last 2-3 years.
Damn.... really was hoping Costa Rica would at least get a draw..... instead Brazil gets 2 stoppage time goals and wins 2-0. God I hate Brazil....
