I though I had heard the same about People's downtown..... that it would be the ISU game watch HQ for Des Moines. Anyone have any info?

Peoples downtown was a spot that we had looked at. It would be nice to have it at a bar that started in Ames.

The only thing is that at this time Peoples does not have any T.V.s to speak of and they do not serve any food.

We would like to give Trophy's a fair shot.

I also have some new information for everyone that will attend the game watch at Trophy's on Saturday.

We have two pairs of Cyclone Basketball tickets to raffle off on Saturday along with a few other prizes.

2 Tickets to ISU vs. UNI WBB on 12/18
2 Tickets to ISU vs. USC-Upstate MBB on 1/2

You may have heard our announcement on Cotlar's show this morning.

We hope to have a big crowd. So get there early to buy your tickets and start drinking early.

Al and I will be there around 12:30 - 1. So come out and join us.

GO CYCLONES!!

I'd second 3rd base as a much better place to watch games. Tons of room, and lots of TVs. Food is good, and beer is plentiful.

I probably won't go to either, so take that for what it's worth. Trophy's is distinctly underwhelming in my limited experiences there.

3rd base is the "offical" DSM I-Club (pukeeyes) meeting place. No thanks, going there is like kissing your sister, ya just dont go there.

I have a simple solution to all of this - official game watch should be here

People's downtown has several plasmas.

I am sorry. I have not been there for a whille. The last time I was there they did not have them. They were also supposed to be getting a big projection screen to come down infront of the stage, which would be great.

We still have the problem of no food though.

I may be wrong but I think a vast majority of people that want to go to a game watch would also like to be able to have some food with there drinks.

The offical game watch location for now is Trophy's.

However, have no fear. Your GDMCC will revisit this depending on the performance of Trophy's.

Actually, according to the I-Club website, Trophy's and Pal Joey's are the "official" I-Club hangouts in Des Moines, though I see on the polk county i-club site that they do gamewatches at Third Base and Rookie's on 63rd.

The way I look at it, the more ISU fans taking over Iowa "hangouts" the better.
