I think Mess has called a 1,000 times better game than he did against UNI. But I think he screwed up our skill player's heads during the preperation. So it's a wash as to how bad he's done.

Isn't this effectively the same offensive line as the one that played at Kinnick last year, minus Burton? No excuse for such a terrible performance.

The playcalling hasn't been the issue today. It has been the preperation and the mindset of the players. Sam and the RBs are playing tight and scared.

The problem is this has been a 5 year long consistent occurrence. Not today, not this season but FIVE flipping years.

All the players got thrown under the bus this week, need to make game changing plays, etc. by the coaches, and they screwed them up. just no excuse for this performance.

Coming in to the season, everyone new our D was going to be rough. But I think we all thought our O would be better. And it isn't. It's much worse.

I'm wondering if Sam is still dinged up? They haven't rolled him out either, which is the obvious thing to do when you don't have time to pass.

I will say that the line has been garbage to his point, and that may be why some of the play calls are what they are (quick screens galore) but you don't call one on 4th and 4...that's more of a "call your best play" situation. Messingham hasn't met any expectation with the supposed athleticism we have. It's time for a new OC.

This o line is beyond bad, it's banged up and it wasn't any good to begin with. Iowa is going to run run run, and they arent going to stop running until they throw a play action bomb about early 4th quarter.

Our D as been hanging tough. D line playing well. Too much cushion for receivers but my guess is they are playing it safe because the safeties are in run support.

Our O HAS to get some drives going so the defense can rest.
