lol. During the latter stages of our 1999-2000 team, my heart was going 150 beats/minute too. But my expectations were 10X higher then. This year I'm just proud of how competitive these guys are and I still don't expect them to finish much different than 4-12 in Big 12 and .500 overall. We're usually outmanned at 3 or 4 of the 5 positions in every conference game. This is catching up with us at the end of the game when the other team is desperate.

That team is the reason why I changed my outlook on ISU sports. Why?

Because I spent the whole season waiting for the hammer to drop on us, and I ended up not enjoying it nearly as much as I should have. That's really sad considering it was the best season of Cyclone sports in my lifetime.

Now I just try to sit back and appreciate the experience of watching my favorite team play, and if we lose, we'll get em next time.

I am usually the last one to say this and I said after the Nebraska game maybe 3 or 4 wins. But I am changing my mind. I just think IF Diante can keep playing like this, we should win more games than 5. Literally most nights he is going to be the best player on the floor if he keeps this up. I hope that is worth more than 5 wins. Maybe not though. We will see.

I had counted tonight as a for-sure loss coming in, but the way we lost it will drain all the confidence from our players that they gained by crushing Baylor. Still, I'm actually going to 1-up your prediction and say we'll beat either K-State or Mizzou at home to get to 19-12 (6-10). With 1 win in the Big XII tournament, we'll be a for-sure NIT team.

If we were 3-1 instead of 1-3, I'd agree with you. Instead I've got to give that honor to both the Colorado guards (Burks and Higgins) as they are 3-1.

Yeah, I mean I see what you are saying. But can you imagine what this team would look like without DG? Scary.

I haven't physically hurt this much after a basketball game since we lost to Hampton. This game could have been a huge turning point for our program...break the losing streak @ OSU, win a road game with a depleted roster that has no right to even compete with the talent OSU has, and maybe, just maybe, end up on the bubble for the tournament. With a minute to go, I told myself, "we're actually going to do this. We're gonna win." I am just sick at how Ejim's lackadaisical play tonight lost the game for our team. DG played his heart out, and JVB shot the ball like a superstar. These guys are like the team from "The Replacements." They shouldn't be starters in BCS D-1 basketball, but they are playing incredibly. Someone just forgot to tell Oklahoma State + the officials about the Hollywood ******.

I am just sick. We gave this one away, and after that happened, everything went the other way. Calls from the officials, baskets made...and the ******* ridiculous call on Ejim. I will put that up there with "The Blarge" and "The Make a 3-Pointer Between Two Dead-Ball Free Throws" as one of the legendary screw-jobs in Iowa State's recent history. Tonight's wouldn't have won the game for us had it gone the other way, but it made me feel as though all of Cyclone Nation was the little kid with glasses who was getting beat up by the class bully, and then was framed for stealing someone's lunch money while that bully laughed and had no shame.

Apparently, ****** is a banned word here at CF? (the word rhymes with dipped, describes written dialogue from a movie or play)

EDIT: OK, yeah, apparently it is banned. S c r i p t. That's not a bad word. Mods...

CONGRATULATIONS! You are the one millionth person who has noticed this:twitcy:

Gosh, am I really that person about this? Really, I read this site often. I'm not like the people that start new threads about the JTS videoboard every day, I promise! Sorry for not being more "in the loop".

I even know what this means: :jimlad: Am I one of the cool kids here again?

Is your avatar Dave McCarney? Gosh, that guy is so cool. :jimlad:

The aftermath of this game is making me a bit loopy. Trying to cheer yourself up after a heartwrenching loss...yeah, you all know what I'm talking about. Now, I've got to try and sleep with this on my mind because I'm getting up at 4:45 to get ready for work. GAH! Sometimes being a Cyclone is ridiculously hard.

Part of me wishes we had just lost by 15 in regulation. Losing like this, where you're up but give it all up in the stretch and can't hold on doesn't give me any hope for the rest of the season, no matter how we played during the game, and just makes me sick. In the end, it's the same as if the game was well over during regulation.

And the refs sucked. If you only watched the first half, you'd maybe think it was in our favor, but as soon as we got ahead the refs slowed down with the calls on our end until OSU got back in it, and then COMPLETELY swallowed them for us right towards the end and during OT.

That was a bad loss. A couple careless turnovers in the end and Ejim's and 1 foul was a big turning point. Freshman mistake though nothing you can do. Its heart breaking to watch a team do so well to end up losing it in the end. It was a tough loss and maybe a turning point in the season. Need some big wins over some really good teams coming up to finish the season off strong.

I just read through 6 pages so far and no one has even mentioned that we had the ball for the last shot of regulation tied and did not get a shot up due to DG being out of control. He really should not have the ball at the end of close games!

Everyone is blaming ME but DG had 7 freaking turnovers this game. Not exactly what you are looking for out of your "Star" PG in a conference road game.

We got the ball in a position to be shot ,and then the refs called a BS foul on a flop.

Maybe because he had 26 points and 6 assists on the road.

The reason they were in a position to win was in large part to DG. He made some mistakes like we all make at times. I think he and the coaches will learn from this.

Again, we weren't playing ourselves. Oklahoma State was 13-4 and had beat some great teams at home.

OR DG lost us another close game

Or maybe we could say the entire team lost this game. Not just DG or Melvin or Scotty or Jake or Jamie.

The TEAM made too many mistakes to win. End of story.
