lets be the first to leave the big 12. Id rather be the bad guy than the victim. C'mon Kansas and KSU its time to leave the big 12.
Here is my Big East scenario adding KU/KSU/ISU/BU from Big 12 and ECU, UCF and Memphis
ECU - avg attendance 49K+
UCF - avg attendance 39K+ and solidifies the Florida market
(Compare that to WF and Duke who have 30k or less)
Memphis only had 23K, but they play in a large stadium (Liberty Bowl) and it would be an upgrade, but this would be a basketball move for them.
Scheduling-
FB - 2 8-team divisions - play 7 games in division and 2 outside. rotate the outside games every year, so you play each team every four years and play at each location every 8 years.
BB - 4 6-team divisions - play 10 games (home-away) in division and play 1 other division (6 games) each year. Rotate the division you play. You will play each team outside division every 3 years and play at each location every 6 years.
Tournament - Seed based on division finish because of unbalanced schedule and also can help ensure that you play team from outside division in tournament. All 24 in tournament for 7 day tournament. Either quadruple bye or traditional format.

Looks good to us. Baylor fans are really hoping for Mizzou to the SEC so we can fill in that 4th Big East spot.
Well, I have no doubt the Big 12 is done after the recent developments. Sad to see it go.
"The Oklahoman reported that sources within the university said OU, Texas, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech could move to the Pac-12. A big obstacle for Texas to the Pac-12—the same obstacle that prevented the school from moving in the summer of 2010—is the controversial Longhorn Network.
But those aforementioned comments make it clear that Texas cannot join the league without sharing revenue from its television network. What changed from last summer, you ask?
Texas A&M has informed the Big 12 it is looking at other conferences (and likely will get an invitation from the SEC), thus putting Oklahoma in a position of strength. The Sooners can now control the discussion, and if they leave for the stability of the Pac-12, Texas either must follow or become independent.
Being an independent in the current college landscape is not the place to be.
According to The Oklahoman, Scott is expected to meet with Texas president William Powers over Labor Day weekend to finalize the deal.
All day Saturday, there were constant signs of the impending breakup of the Big 12. Oklahoma State president Burns Hargis said the Cowboys were in “constant contact” with colleague Oklahoma and would follow Oklahoma’s lead."

I agree just give us a place to call home. Does anybody know how the money would be split out and how much less we would be getting now that the oil diggers got greedy? Assuming this is best case scenario.
Conference realignment is all driven by football, like it or not (not).
I think it's best to realize that ISU is not a football school. Never really was, will likely never will be.
Our identity with the BE will be with bball, and there is an upside to that. Fred will make it work, and that part would be fun.
And who knows, maybe we would compete better in football, I think our fans would like to see a few more wins.

If texas goes to pac-12, I feel bad for Colorado. They bolted last year as a reaction to the crap texas fed everyone just to get texas back in their faces again.
During the pre-game radio show, in response to a question about the what was happening with the conference, Jamie made the statment that he "knows the answer but can't say".

Colorado didn't jump to escape Texas - when they fled to the Pac 10 the rumor was Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, OSU, and Texas was bringing Baylor with them and they jumped when they did to prevent them from doing so.
David Boren is laughing all the way to the bank. LHN will have to be dismantled as UT is forced to move.
Considering the pipeline Fred is building out East a move to the Big East only helps that cause.
