Our current record of 6-5 just does not compute. At the beginning of the season if someone told me we were more likely to be 6-5 right now rather than 10-1 or 11-0, I would have laughed. 6-5 breaks my brain. I am absolutely heartbroken this season. This has been the most disappointing season of ISU football. I've seen some monumentally terrible teams, but for this team to be 6-5 right now leaves a huge pit in my stomach. Even winning a bowl game seems meaningless now. Honestly, the only goal for these last two games should be getting Breece rushing touchdowns to break the record. I really don't think anything else matters.
I should also say, as disappointing as this season has been, this next game, the last in JT for this senior class (plus Will & Breece) will be all the feels. Very similar to watching that last game in Hilton for Niang. This program wouldn't be as great as it is today without guys like Allen, Kolar, Rose, Newell, Eisworth & most of all Purdy. By a mile, the best senior class in the history of ISU football.

It does kinda suck that it’s the Thanksgiving break home game, still hoping for a good turnout.

I would have taken 6-5 over 10-1 for which is more likely but didn't think either would happen.

I am 100% over this pattern of playing terribly for huge stretches of games, then rallying furiously only to fall short. Campbell needs to completely overhaul his approach to early season games and in-game adjustments.

Add up all the stretches where we look completely befuddled and it has to be equivalent to at least half the season. It's beyond ridiculous.

the lack of urgency offensively is really a weird thing, not sure how to explain it, just a weird thing

I do think Campbell will look back at this and decide something has to change offensively. His great strength is self criticism and ability to change. One of the many reasons I love the guy. I doubt anyone gets canned, but something will have to be overhauled offensively. I think any fair minded person would look at that offense and decide something needs fixing.

I do not understand playing to always keep the game close, no matter the opponent. That makes the margins more important, and mistakes more costly.

There has been almost no improvement in the 2 minute drill in years. Even the players don't seem to get urgency.

Our 4 year starter is making rookie mistakes still. Our offensive is actually quite predictable.

Very frustrating team to watch, and I must say not really enjoyable. Has this really been fun?

This has been one of the worst seasons ever. Team doesn't seem to care at times, staff doesn't learn.

Coach doesn't get pissed.

What a horrible freaking year.

Losing to OU, such an abhorrent institution and garbage program.

I just saw the replay of the INT at the end of the game...wow...Chase was wide open...to the point you wonder how OU let him get that wide open!

Open super early for a long time.

May have scored.

That was a microcosm of the season.

No it isn't.

We play the same way we did in the past, when we had far inferior talent.

Offensive line still sucks.

No deep threat.

Rare use of sweeps.

So ******* stupid.

There have been plenty of games that have been fun this year. Kansas State (who it turns out is good), Texas (who it turns out is horrid), Kansas, Oklahoma State.

Honestly, our 2 minute drill hasn't been TERRIBLE.

We've beaten OU 7 times in history. 2 of those times are under Campbell. I'm not sure why you are complaining about that.

Listen to any of our players over the last few weeks. If anything, they care too damn much.

I would argue one of his great strengths is self-restraint and not changing with the wind! He certainly has core values (football program speaking) and he sticks to them rather strongly! Staff, philosophy, game plan, management...I applaud him for that as so many HCs these days jump to the flavor of the day to cure their ills.

This was the targeting call on Young from the conference championship game last year. Shoulder to helmet.

Why wasn't that called when Purdy got the shoulder to the helmet today?
