He is struggling throwing those out patterns toward the sidelines. Yet that's all that is being called. Insanity?

It's not like Iowa is getting pressure every play. Like to see some throws down the field. Iowa is flooding those sideline passes that are in front of them. Go down the seem with the TE maybe. Something different, because what you are doing now, and have been doing the last 7 seasons isn't working.
Actually Iowas defense takes away the deep ball and gives you shorter stuff. I'm guessing they are forcing Rocco to throw to his left which is his weakness.

Prob Rocco has....his arm isn't good enough or accurate enough that you have to worry about it. He's not quick enough that you have to worry about that either. He's fine, but right now that's all he is.

Really need Rocco to find his game, he's been lost, if I'm calling plays, idk what I'd trust him to do.

Go down the middle against there safeties. Their corners are keeping everything in front of them on the sidelines. And we are doing exactly what they want. Stop letting them dictate what you do. Maybe it works........maybe it doesn't. But start throwing over their heads. What's to lose? Already doing that.

I sure hope we try something different, whatever that is.

In the meantime, I believe I'll have another beverage.

Maybe so..............but why not keep trying. Stop letting them dictate, because what they are doing isn't working anyway.

You can say Campbell is the best coach we have ever had, but that's not saying much. I now realize... the guy is overrated and I'm getting sick of it. There have been some great moments, sure, but.....

-A 1-7 (?) record against your in-state rival that has less talent than ISU most seasons. It always comes down to Campbell being outcoached by Ferentz every year. Period. This is unacceptable!

-Losing to teams like Louisiana, UNI, and Ohio should not happen. At least not as often as it happens at ISU.

-Never trying anything new. If something is not working, STOP DOING IT! We all get it, why can't Campbell get it? The play calling, on offense especially, is way too predictable.

-Poor o-line play every year.

-Coming off bye weeks looking like they didn't practice or prepare for the opponent with two weeks to do so. Same thing with bowl games.

-Tons of mental mistakes, dumb penalties, lines getting bullied... the list goes on and on.

This is a good coach? NO!

The QB designed run was not executed well at all (never seem to be). The times we run what looked like a read option, a couple looked set up way better for Rocco to have kept, but not sure if he truly has that option or not.
I’ve had that thought before, that it looked like Becht could have gotten more yards if he kept it, but I recognize that’s hard to say for sure given defenders are pretty good at seeing who actually has the ball.

Of course, read option plays tend to lose their effectiveness when the QB never keeps it. When the defense is 99.9% certain the back is getting the handoff, they’re gonna sell out in that. Which, again, should open up the QB keeper to break a big one, if he’s actually allowed the choice.
