Actually Shayok got away with a big time push off on that play to get open. Lucky no ref saw it.

Meh last week some guy won the game on a last second inbounds full court pass where the guy at the basket end gave a "little bump" to the two defenders in front of him to get the separation to get the ball and put it in. My question was why they didn't sandwich the guy.

Florida/South Carolina

No way you can let an offensive player get behind both defenders.

That was the game. Thank You. Hell of a finish it was exciting to watch. Meet some So. Carolina fans at the Myrtle Beach tourney last yr, they were hoop junkies and just a lot of fun to visit with went to all the games like me and my friend did so visited with them quite a bit nice people so I kind of like So. Carolina now as a team to cheer for if I stumble across their game.

16. Iowa State Cyclones (13-4)
Previous ranking: Unranked
This week: Beat Texas Tech 68-64 on Wednesday, vs. Oklahoma State (Saturday)

Iowa State went into Lubbock and knocked off the Red Raiders for the Cyclones' second huge win of the season, following their blowout victory over Kansas two weekends ago. The only team in the country with a better pair of wins might be Kansas (over Tennessee and Michigan State). After beating Kansas, though, Iowa State lost to Baylor and Kansas State; the Cyclones need better consistency this time.

Best thing i saw tonight was Zoran bolting off the bench to help Jacobson up after he went down going into a media timeout.

These guys like each other. No one seems to be an odd man out.

There was also a timeout where Lard was pumping up Wiggi in the huddle as well. It definitely seems to me like chemistry isn’t much of a problem with this team. I think they just enjoy being together.

MS is a good free throe shooter he is suppose to make those.

But he made them!

What else did you really like about the win?

Do you think ISU will win another game or are you giving up again?

One of our problems is that even with 3 upper classmen starting our Big 12 experience rests with one player entirely in that lineup. That’s something that a team like KSU exploits with the way they play. Baylor game, just flush that one total let down spot after KU.

To be fair, though, that five seconds was barely 4 seconds. I timed it on replay. Plus NWB released the ball before the ref had extended his arm out for the 5th second. That was plain and simple a ref WANTING to make a call.

Possible but it's still a trend and it's not like ISU's players were open.

Yeah, the total breakdown against the press was a glaring spotlight in our lack of experienced players. We weren’t even doing well against it with NWB in there, but as soon as he went out it was a complete ******* disaster.

Great win. I thought everyone played really well. A few thoughts:

A) I've found myself being critical of Babb from time-to-time. Last night reminded me how important he is. A veteran who can get the ball up the floor with ease and get people where they need to go should not be taken for granted.

B) The inbound play epidemic confounds me. I don't get it. Even the commentator knew they were going to switch everything. I don't claim to have an answer, but I watch alot of basketball and do not see other teams struggling like this. There's got to be any easier way to get it inbounds.

C) I'd like to see Lewis and Talley get some more spot minutes. I think our late game issues are due in large part to guys just being gassed. Shayok always looks extremely tired by the end of the game. Same with Babb. I also notice we miss alot of shots short once we get into the last ten minutes or so. Getting those guys just a few extra minutes of rest earlier on would have to pay dividends, and Talley and Lewis are capable of giving some good minutes.

D) We have to figure out a way to get THT confident again. He just looks hesitant in the half court. Passing up open shots and not going strong to the rim. If we could get him as confident in the half court as he is on the fast break we'd be on to something.

E) Conditt has been a bright spot. The kid looks like he belongs out there despite being so skinny.

I agree with much of that, but I really liked what I saw out of THT last night. Almost all of his points were going to the rim, and he should pass up some of those open shots if there is a driving lane to the rim. He's not a great shooter at this point, but he is very creative around the rim.
