Imagine thinking a team has to have equal amounts of talent as Clemson to be considered good.
What? Clemson finished against a team with inferior talent. ISU couldn't finish vs. a team with inferior talent. Seems like a pretty fair comparison to me.

It's the dumbest comparison. Clemson is MUCH better than Iowa State. And North Carolina is worse than Baylor.

Right. I’d also put Clemson in a significantly higher category of almost all, if not all, other teams in the country in regards to talent. Clemson is a first rate, fantastic team. I’m not trying to say ISU is anywhere near that level. Doesn’t make them a bad team.

Finish? They survived a two point conversion, is that finishing?
That's right. They got outplayed and outcoached the whole game...and won. That's finishing. Something ISU doesn't do.

If we aren't Clemson, we might as well give up! Sometimes I wonder why some of us are even Iowa State fans. It seems like it brings nothing but misery to a lot of people. If something made me as angry as it makes some of you, I wouldn't mess with it anymore. I stick with it because Iowa State football brings me more fun than anger. By a large margin over the last 10 years. Now, during the end of the Mac era, it brought me more misery and I stopped caring.

Can people be pissed after a loss?

This isn't like 2017 KSU loss angry (THAT was some anger) but this is disappointing seeing ISU not have it when it matters (so far---check back next week) in a season with legit talent returning.

It would more concerning if we got to the point of being apathetic like the last two years of the CPR era (at least I was--that KU thumping in '14 was basically funny).

Alright, I’m gonna head home from the gym, crack a beer and watch the Hawaii game.

Y’all enjoy your conversations about benching Purdy, firing Campbell and wallowing in what apparently will be our upcoming 4-8 season. I hope you all have a better night!

There is being pissed and there is saying things like a lot of what is being said in this thread.

Not dumb at all. UNC is better than BU. But that's not the point. Niether is the talent disparity between CU and ISU. The point is that the "next step" ISU team holds on against Iowa and BU. This isn't that team. The next step isn't happening this season.
