I am now officially excited for the game. However, the logical side of me says we lose by 3 TDs. Would love to be wrong.

And I want to win this game for many reasons, but one of the biggest is I am amazed at the sheer volume of douschbag Iowa fans. Every fans base has them; I've yet to see another with as many as they have. I don't mind the school, it's the fans I loathe. Most of them - some of my closest friends are Iowa fans and they are the exception to the rule.

My gameday smoke just got done. I just hope I didn't overcook it..again. This is only my 2nd time doing a brisket. The first time, I burnt it to a crisp. I'm going to let it sit for a half an hour before I slice. First pic is the half way point. Second pic is right after I pulled it from the smoker. Go State!

2. Run the ball well
3. Lanning doesn't play like hot garbage again.

Do those and we win. First two are for sure possible.

There's no way we don't at least cover the spread of not win. Iowa is overrated.

What do you smoke it at? I do it at 195 degrees, never go over 230.

2 and 3 require an OL. Not likely.

Our OL isn't as bad as it was last week. Our worst two defenders were Meeker and Fett. Meeker is back on the bench with Good-Jones back, Fett is back at guard where he's not bad. It's a new OL with a new offense, they will get better each week. Our HC and OC both know how to improve the OL, it's not staying bad.

It will take more than that, but we do have some things going for us:

1) We can't play worse than we did last week
2) Iowa has an injury at a position against our best player
3) Iowa's MLB only played a series or two last week and didn't get the rust off
4) Payne might be ISU's most athletic player on defense
5) King can't cover all of our receivers and may not be able to cover AL
6) Bobek is playing?

Never use #1 with Cyclone football.

We've got a shot today. If the OL can hold up, we've got a shot.
