If they got two TDs but miss an XP we're still tied rather than a loss at a 12 point lead. Same with a TD and two fieldgoals. All about increased probability to win or go to OT.

if we don't convert we're no worse off holding the 11 point lead.
If we don't convert, they can tie with a TD, 2pt, FG. Kick the extra point, it requires two TDs. Would be interesting to see the actual statistics/odds.

Right, but then OSU just needs a TD, 2 pt conversion and a FG to tie it. If we just kick the PAT there then we force OSU to get two TD's no matter what, which I guess you can debate which is more difficult to do but I'd rather make them get the two TD's.

Probably under appreciated is how our defense defended their running game. 2.9 ypc is outstanding against that team.
To hold Hill to 2.8 ypc with their passing game is impressive. You can’t just stack the box.

Ok St fans may beat up on their QB, but he kept them in the game. He was very accurate anytime he got time, which fortunately wasn’t often.

Their WRs are physical and play the ball very well.

An X-factor: ISU is the least-penalized team in the Big 12, 41 yards per game. OSU averages 71 ypg.

I'm not bump-replying my post as a prescient/boast, but the game closely followed per-game averages so far.

More importantly, some of the OSU penalties, especially in the first half, forced Oklahoma State into 3-and-8 instead of 3-and-3; or put them at 1st and 15, 2nd and 20. And that's just on offense. There were interference and personal fouls on D, too.

Penalties:
ISU: 5 for 36
OSU: 9 for 97

How much would you have **** your pants though if we didn’t get the 2, then when osu scored and if they got the 2 ended up recovering the onside kick? Going for 2 didn’t make sense for us but I’m glad we got it.

This is what I was thinking during the timeout hoping they would come to their senses.
