I'll give jbo some credit. He at least owned it afterwards when he could have gone Aaron White.

They just have so many players that are so easy to hate...

...and that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.
I rewatched the game today, and it was a butt kicking pretty much the whole way. Really frustrated the Iowa offense, and great job on the offensive glass to prevent the easy baskets. for the most part ISU handled the Iowa press, and got several dunks after breaking it. Couple mistakes in there, but to be expected from a team with so many new guys.
Kind of surprised that Fran didn't get very red last night. I supposed when you team is getting kicked all over the court adding a couple T's is only going to make it worse.
Fran gave up 7 minutes into the 2nd half. You could tell by his handling of the huddles. He had no idea what to do and just wanted to get it over with.
Was a little surprised they kept pressing but that and jumping passes was their only hope to make it less awful for them I guess.
Someone commented about TJ not clearing the bench like he had a choice since Iowa didn't.
I've never really paid attention to the ethics of it but it seems like the team that's getting blown out does it first.
In most cases I'd say team that's ahead should do the sub-in first. But (1) no guarantee Iowa was going to stop the press if there was any kind of shot to get back into it, so safer not to "empty." (2) We have like 3 non-regulars, so "emptying" would mean some overlap with regulars.
That's what I mean...Iowa was in desperation mode and a couple of threes off the press make it interesting.
Maybe if they let off to half court.
Maybe I should have paid attention to if Mizzou/KU emptied first today.![]()

If a team is pressing they are still trying to win. Why would you pull your starters? In most cases I'd say team that's ahead should do the sub-in first. TJ doesn't really have a bench to clear. Plus, as others have pointed out, Iowa was pressing. 4 TOs with 4 made 3s would have made the game more interesting in a hurry. Even to commentators were talking about crazy comebacks that had already happened this week.
I was a little bothered by Jaz hanging around the 3 point line when we broke the press at the end of the game. The Hawks had no one under the basket a couple times, so it would have been easy dunks for him.
Question: What is more insulting to your opponent than leaving your autographed shoes at midcourt?
*Answer: Standing at midcourt intentionally dribbling the shot clock out because you don't want to embarrass them any further even though they are still utilizing a full-court press.
In their defense, it's hard to chant F Niang (or whoever) when their crowd is dressed as empty seats.2 days later and Hawk fans are still crying about the F Bohannon chants. What a bunch of losers. Can’t wait for Utah State to beat them in Sioux Falls.

According to KCRG (the unofficial Hawkeye Network) in Cedar Rapids, the game never happened. Nothing on their website yet, even 48 hours after the conclusion of the game. All kinds of other sporting events have highlights and stories- lots of Hawk stuff as usual- 5 star football commit and so on- and even the women's game the night before but nothing about the men's game. I did not see the sports at 10pm the night of the game but there is nothing on their website. This is what living in eastern Iowa is like- the Hawk-biased media love to report all the Hawk success but when something like Thursday night happens, they act like if they don't mention it, it didn't happen. I have friends who have emailed Saville (sports director) over the years about the disparity in coverage and he gives the standard BS replies- game got done too late- uh, it was officially done around 10pm (in reality it was over for all intents and purposes by about 9:15), we are 25 minutes from the University of Iowa and the majority of our watchers are Hawkeye fans, blah blah, blah...this goes back to the John Campbell era and continues on. It's humorous how they think if they ignore ISU's success, it will go away.
