Iowa is really good at standing in the exact spot that bricks come to rest.

I'm just relieved we pulled that one out with how we played. On a 1 to 10 scale, ISU played about a 4/10 game and Iowa played about a 7/10 game, and we still pulled it out.
Our rebounding has to get WAY, WAY better though. My gawd. Iowa had 3 or 4 shots every time down it seemed. And in that last minute, we could have put the game away with just a single rebound on several trips, but Iowa kept getting every single one.
The really bad thing for Iowa about this game was this might have been their last shot at a win against us for a while. We are in nearly complete rebuild mode this season, starting the season with 2 straight losses, but getting a little better every week, although I thought we took a little step backwards tonight from the game before.
But next year, we should be a LOT better, and Iowa will be about the same.

Why not blame Fran. He has kept Pemsl on the bench for the majority of most games. And can't find a way to get his guards consistently open shots with a definitive size advantage inside.
I thought he did well. I wish he had handled the AWESOME pass from Babb when we were up 7 (I believe). He would have had a sure dunk. He completely botched it and the Hoks went down and scored inside. That was a quick 4 point turnaround. Had we scored there, perhaps it isn't as tight as it needed to be at the end. Otherwise, a solid game by Solo.
They can't really blame the refs when probably the most critical call of the night went against ISU despite video evidence to the contrary.
In their defense, we're barely into December and Iowa has all but eliminated themselves from the NCAA tournament. In a year they were supposed to be a top 6 seed.
Will be a fun dumpster fire to watch play out.
